where in the tech section would the discussion for frame sliders for the xb be?
I found that LSL makes a set that look pretty decent and want to see if anyone has put a set on or has any feedback.

I think LSL misjudged the demand for these, as we have 11 sets on backorder with them. They should be out by next week so I'm sure someone will post about them pretty quick: )

Who manufactures these frame sliders?

Not the best picture but I hope it's good enough.

Those "look" like the frame sliders from racingmotorcycles.com.

Im curious as to which would perfom better in a crash, the LSL or the full length carbon fibre frame protectors? Would the carbon fibre ones prevent denting of the tank as well as scratch protection?
Im not sure how well the LSL mounts would hold up or whether they would cause damage to the points they are mounted.

Both look good in my opinion. Anyone have any experience with these? Trojan have you had any customer feedback? Any crash pics?

We discussed the LSL's also, may have been over on atc. I believe the LSL ones get mounted using a couple of primary bolts & you need to cut a hole thru your air intake. Plus they are mounted so low that in the event of a crash the weight of the bike could pull it over & you would still hit the tank.

Those are the ones we discussed. The right side one attached to the motor mount seems like a bad idea to me, wack it good & the mount is going to break. And the right side one is awfully low on the bike. Have either of those been crash tested yet? And if so how did they fare?

It pisses me off that with all the plastic on bikes today one of factories would have the balls to design "sliders" onto the bike as OEM.

My 90 CBR1000 has them (as do some of the sport tourers admittedly) and they work great.

I know, I know. They want to sell more plastic. I just had to say something.

I don't like that left side LSL slider at all. Looks like bad tiki to me.

I'm redesigning the American Sport Bike sliders. Overall, Tat's sliders ain't half bad, in that they protect the right place, and they spread the impact load across the area of the frame/tank with the most section stiffness.

But what sucks about them is that if you have an event, you now have a rashed slider bonded to your bike. It'd be a pain in the ass to fix it good as new, we use GOOD adhesive to bond it.

So the redesign is looking to split the puck into an inner and outer half, with replaceable outer halves that screw to the inner half. Have an event, unscrew three screws, replace outer puck, good as new.

Or that's the idea. Still going thru the technical and financial studies on it, but I think I'll have the version 2 sliders based on this concept soon.

I still think the knee slider idea is about the best & coolest one out there.
