...so when I take off from a stand still in the mornings, I hear what sounds like a squeaking wheel. Usually only hear it when its really cold first thing in the morning, up through second gear.

Its harder to hear over my spec. ops. muffler , but i can still hear it. Again, I hear it mainly when its really cold.

Any ideas before my warranty is out in march?

sounds almost like something slipping at first, like a belt. Then settles into a squeaky wheel sound until i get a little speed...20-30mph maybe.

Wheel bearing? Any rusty streaks emanating from the bearings onto the wheel?

My rear left wheel bearing started sqeaking and sqealing the day it went.

It ended up damaging the swingarm, wheel and rotor.

@Paralegalpete

How did it damage the swingarm, wheel, and rotor? Was it replaced under warranty?

Thanks,
Nick

If you see rust from the bearing I would get that fixed asap.

My bearings seem to have a bit of surface rust. Is there anything like a coating of WD-40 or thin oil I should apply?

Wipe some Anti-sieze on the outer bearing and seal. It will stay in place and waterproof it also.

A few of us have found that the drive belt is actually the source of squeaking. The pulleys have a belt retaining edge on them, the front is on the outside the rear is on the inside. Most people notice it when pushing it around the garage when cold. As soon as the belt heats up it stops squeaking.
