I love it. I will be picking one up in a few years, assuming I don't go broke on a GS1200A. |

It has 2 problems, liquid cooling and chain final drive. I could look past the liquid cooling; but once you have belt you'll never go back. |

I am done with the air cooled junk. I only still ride my Blast because it gets 85mpg. The chain is a very valid point, I am done with that junk too. Oh well, at least the GS is shaft |

IMHO: Its like most of the upper side of the Duc range: I love it! but its too high of a cost of ownership for me, as compared to other other similar bikes. Aesthetics: If I cared what my bike looked like, I would not have bought a uly. |

"air cooled junk", that's not a cool thing to say around these parts... exspecially on the xb board haha, it would be a different story on the 1125 board lol |

I love it! Just looked at one in person a couple days ago. If Buell isn't back to streetbikes when I'm ready to buy, then I'll be looking to the Italians for my next set of wheels. |

They got it right. Exit the Ulysses. Enter the new Multistrada. Nels |

+1 to the new Multi. It's what the Uly aspired to be when it grew up but never had the chance to become. I appreciate the nostalgic value of an air-cooled mill, but liquid cooling is the bees' knees. Modern o-ring chains require so little in the way of maintenance and rarely ever leave anyone stranded. The Uly is my first belt-driven bike, and I confess that I love the zero slack and jump-on-and-ride qualities. But chains are easy enough to live with these days. |

150 crank H.P. , "V" twin, upright riding position , whats not to like ? the price...$20K with all the amenities Or you can spend $14995 and still get the "150 crank H.P. , "V" twin, upright riding position" with less "amenities". Base- 14,995 Base + (ABS) - 16,495 S Sport - 19,995 (ABS, Electronic Ohlins suspension and carbon fiber bits). S Touring - 19,995 (ABS, Electronic Ohlins suspension, heated grips, center stand and side panniers instead of carbon fiber bits). At least those are the prices I was given. I sat on it at the show and it was comfortable. I think the GS and new Multi are at the top of my short list. Can't wait for a test ride. |

It's Desmodromic and they really aren't a big deal. Funny thing is the service for my wife's Ducati Monster(with Desmodromic valves) is cheaper than the service on my XB12Ss. I wonder how many people who believe Ducati maintenance is higher actually own one and have brought it in for service. YMMV, Nels |

Guess you never have done maintenance on an XB. Fork oil, primary chain, spark plugs and TPS reset every 10k? Even the 1125's aren't that bad. |

Guess you never have done maintenance on an XB. Fork oil, primary chain, spark plugs and TPS reset every 10k? I think desmo valves are easier to adjust than shim under bucket on most bikes. You do have to inspect your timing belts on Ducs, too though. Not really a big deal either, and it is hard to cry foul to maintenance if you own an XB. I have to agree that the XB is pretty maintenance intensive. The sugar plum dreams of having hydraulic lifters and belt drive equating to a bike that basically needed little more than oil changes didn't quite pan out. Just curious: what is the valve-check interval on the 1125's? |

12.4k mile intervals. Motor needs to be rotated, but the spark plug interval is also 12.4k so you are killing two birds with one stone. Some owners have reported not needing any adjustment at 12.4, so I am curious if both of mine will need it. Slight price to pay for having less scheduled maintenance overall. |

Yeah, that's a very fair trade off. I had an FZ1 (26,000 mile interval valve check). When I checked them around 28K, the clearances had barely budged from the initial 1K check and were still well within spec. I wouldn't be surprised if you find your valves are quite happy at the 12.4K mark. |
