Here is a real simple way to look at this thread:

1. This a "Buell Motorcycle Forum" ie. a place where enthusiasts gather with Buell Motorcycles as the common denominator.

2. Title has "Buell" and the word "Sucks" in the same sentence.

3. Poster's name: Sammy Clark AKA "Fudge" has going on 19 posts now.

4. All this conjures up the spirit of (gasp) Rocketman, for me.

5. When a new person comes into my house (this is not my house) I call them a guest until they pee on my carpet, kick my dog, say something bad about my wife. In other words have some respect when you meet people, and don't be a Troll. note: I am not implying that this was your intent or what you (Sammy)are.

6. Sammy, You are retired, Ride a blast, And want to get into racing? 4 messages + 2 emails + trying to force their hand with a dealership call = harassment.

7. Just my not so humble opinion. I'm not trying to be mean here. Fudge, You may make a great Buell Enthusiast, contribute to the diversity of, and become a fine asset to the BadWeb community. With the excellent reputation and track record of Erik Buell's commitment to service of his customers, you would be better off pooping on a live grenade with the pin pulled, than choosing poor words about Buell when you have not spoken directly to him. As I have stated, this is not an attack on or about you. I am trying to concisely convey why this thread has been a failure.

8. Welcome to BW.

As others have stated, cut them some slack for the time being. No need to reiterate what was already said, but I agree they should have certain practices in place when it comes to customer support. IF you can't get a live human on the phone in a few more months, that'd be one thing. But, they just got started. Give them a break...and try sending an email.

That being said, I contact EBR six days ago with questions on their brake hardware kit. I received a detailed email response within 30 hours. From there, I exchanged another 5 or 6 detailed emails over a period of about 2 days. Ordered the kit and received the parts 4 days later. Keep in mind this was for a $41 kit. Sure, all customers should be treated equally, but I believe there is a difference between buying a $41 bag of hardware and a couple race only motorcycles. I know some won't agree with that, but whatever. The point is, these guys are digging themselves out of a really deep hole. I'm quite pleased with what I've seen so far.

All I can add to this is that I'm prepping a 20009 Buell XB12R for the upcoming race season and every single question I've had and or part I needed was quickly handled via an email. Can't ask for more then that.

It's good to know that Buell will still be making bike 20,000 years from now : D

Fudge is looking for a race ECM, for a Blast? I'm scratchin' my head here.

Maybe the Blast race ECM comes in a trash-compacted cube.

ECM is for my husbands 2010 xb12r, he purchased last week. He's into sport bikes.

I am a woman. Don't any you guys have manners. I ride blast and a fatbob soft tail.

Buell finally answered the dealer inquiry this week. But a week to answer a email is too slow. Also they never returned any phone calls.

For what its worth, somebody here certainly could've answered your initial "race ECM" questions; certainly plenty of licensed roadracers here with direct race shop experience. For the non-racing consumer, some of that stuff's not available off-the-shelf anyways. There are very good alternatives, and they're well known here.

Keep in mind that there are a great many here who are great fans of that race shop, with rapport. Posting that phone number in such a way that seemed to endorse malicious calls seemed unnecessarily inflammatory to some, especially with the word "sucks" attached, in the title no less.

Can any of us even imagine what kind of durress Erik is operating under now? My family's business closed last year, after 73 years, and its aftermath consumed every second of our time for many months. Erik was living his wildest fantasy, with a big giant factory attached, and it was wiped off the face of the Earth in a heartbeat. Empathy is a virtue; use it.

"Don't any you guys have manners"

Coming from you, that's quite a question.

You might wanna quit doin' your husband's dirty work too. Or at least not airing it publicly. Unbecoming.

Flame away...

Don't any you guys have manners.
If it is a question, use a question mark.

Male or female makes no difference to me when it comes to manners. I stick by all I have wrote in this thread.

Welcome to BW.

Nuerburgringer you nailed it.

Starting a thread with something or anything "sucks" . . . . extolling some rediculous parable about going to the dealer to "tell on them" or compel (Buell has NO DEALERS yet) to do something and then . . . suggesting someone lacks manners makes as much sense as . . . . well, most this thread.

As a "boy" Courtney . . I know what it must be like being a "girl" Sammy.

I've no dog in the fight but if I did I'd be begging these folks to shop elsewhere. Life's to short.
