Preparing to do some work on my 05 XB9SX. Figure while I'm in there I will upgrade the motor mounts to the 06+ spec. I was on American Sport Bike and saw that they sell the entire mount, bracket and all for the front and rear. Now, I read that Buell upgraded the rear mount bracket to make it stronger. Was the same done for the front?

Next, on American Sport Bike they sell LED lights for the instrument cluster. Anyone on here use them? If so, what are you opinions of them?

Where did you read this? It is the first time I have heard of an upgrade for the mounts.

Another forum it was mentioned that the rear got updated. Could be bad info, hence why I'm asking around for verification. I do know the rubber mounts were updated in 06+ and since mine have 50,000 miles on them I figure that since I'll be doing engine work with the mounts off I might as well upgrade them with something newer.

New rear mount will cost you about $70. There is no easier time to do it than now. From what I hear it is very rare that they fail, but I am one of the 'lucky' ones that had it happen... Not fun! I have it completely built and running again as of last weekend though!

I know for a fact that the front engine mount was upgraded.

My 2004 came with one that failed right away, was replaced with an upgraded unit which has worked fine.

I believe I posted the part number in the KV. Don't remember it right now.
