thanks bads1, i just googled grandstand designs, and found the pinstriping, but this is what it says about it

"We can pinstripe any wheel...automotive, motorcycle, bicycle, etc. There is an endless combination of colors and thicknesses available. All pinstripes are done by hand and in paint. No decals here, just the real deal! Pinstripes are $15 each.:

the price is good, when he says its done by hand in paint, is this a kit that he sells?, or is it something were he does it himeself, b/c NJ is pretty far off from illinois to have pin striping done

i'm guna assume that its some sort of kit, and if so, how hard was it for you to do to your wifes bike?...

Try any dealer that can order parts from Parts Unlimited. They sell Progrip wheel tape for less than $15. They are a roll of tape as opposed to numerous pieces of tape like those shown earlier. They have less chance of peeling at the junction points of the multi strip kind. They have reflective and flourescent colors available. They even come with an applicator.

Thats not true. The bike above has the multi strip. They have been on for 4 years now. No peeling at all. What I like about this type is that they are way easier to get on straight. Over lap the seams and cut. That way you have a nice flush seam. It all depends on the quality of the material they use. I did that 9 in about 30 minutes. They are straight as a arrow.

Sweet. Musta been the way the person applied them then.

The applicator supplied with the ProGrip's is darn near fool-proof. I speak from experience one this one!

3 years and holding.

I take the wheels off the bike before installing with the PG's.
At least your brand has NO need to remove them for ease of applying.
+1.

Yeah I just put the bike on stands. Made it just a tad easier. They still look good though.

I can't remember the name of the company but there is a one in Raleigh, NC that makes a really great product in regular or reflective type material. Maybe someone can find them.

Any of you guys have the little 'applicator'? I've already got a 50' roll of 1/4" red reflective 3M tape, I just need that applicator to get it on there straight.

Like this little plastic Pc.

Shoot me a PM, I'll pay shipping both ways if I can barrow it.

The progrip kit from New Enough is cheap.
http://www.newenoughhp.com/accessories/extras/progrip/reflective_wheel_tape.html

I rigged my bike up on jacks when it was like 38 deg, I almost got one side of the front done then she fell over and it took me 20 min to pick her up.

I ended up placing the tape on the bike in a few spots on both sides.

tape-1

tape-2

tape-3

tape-4

Not reflective but had to put this on:

tape-5

I know it doesnt look great, and black reflective tape may look better.
I am thinking of either buying more progrip or something from these places:

http://www.reflectivelyyours.com

http://www.identi-tape.com

I am also considering the Reflective Day/Nite "Stretch" Tape, you could make removable arm/leg bands and also use them anywhere on the bike.
It be easy to store those.

Mike, I bought the applicator with the tape at my local Yami dealer. It won't work on the right side of the front rim because of the brake rotor though.
