I think the reason for the ZTL2s was not for more clamping force, but better heat dissipation. The larger caliper sheds heat faster due to more surface area. The cooler the brakes are, the better they will perform. In real world street commuting the ZTL1 would be just as good as the ZTL2. But, if your on a track, I would bet the ZTL2 is going to give more consistent performance.

Congrats on your bike. Break it in carefully, and enjoy.

As the owner of a '75 XLH - the thought of running that XB motor much above 5500 doesn't sound real pleasing to me, but I guess we'll see how it goes once I get it...

Swamp2 I promise you the XB aint your sportster no how no way. It's like comparing a sopwith Camel to a P51 Mustang seriusly the 1125 is like an F15 compared to a sopwith camel anyway I am not kidding there is no comparison at all performance wise

Yeah, the old xlh is a bit of a dog performance-wise - think the xb is rated at about 2x the power. It was really more of a vibration question. On my (rigid mounted) xlh there is really no point in revving it very high as it doesn't reward you with any more power, and would punish you with the vibes.

Anyway, it's not without some charm in an agricultural kind of way, so I keep it around. I am expecting the XB to be a much different animal. I certainly would have preferred to demo one before committing to buy - but there wasn't a practical way to do so (between weather and no bikes around to demo).
