EDIT: I have NO idea where that title came from!? Should have said "craptastic pics"...?
---------------------

Well, I FINALLY got my bits together. Combining a universal bracket with a universal flyscreen makes for an interesting evening, trying to find the right combination to mount it up. There's about 1000 different ways it could fit (brackets swapping sides, flipping upside down, etc.), but with the M2 headlight, only ONE seems to work. The M2 plastic casing has an indention where the original bracket tied in, and that has been the biggest PITA, because every which way I turn these things, I'm hitting that outer lip where the plastic extends on out. This is the ONE way I've found where everything seems to match up, and there's not a 1" gap between the light and the flyscreen.

Unfortunately, these pics blow. I'll take some better ones once the whole thing is put together for good. This is just a rough fitment... no wiring has been done, and the ignition switch and gauges aren't even installed.

That's a Puig Raptor flyscreen, BTW. You can get one at Newenough under the SV650 Hard Parts section.

No can do. Like I said, that's the ONE way I can actually get the bolts to even go in the holes! That chrome ring is wider than the rest of it, and blocks the flyscreen bracket (that whitish triangle thing just behind it). If I'd known what I was going to run into, I would have just bought an SV650 headlight to start with. I think they're a more standard size, and lots of screens are made to fit them. However, I got this M2 for cheap, so I guess I can't complain.

fab up a small bracket?

edit: is the ring diameter larger than the radius of the screen?

Looks good. Chrome ring & all (matches the down tubes...).

Any gain in light output / coverage? Or was that not the goal?

It looks like you mounted a Blast headlamp and flyscreen. Did you consider that before starting the project?

Sharky: yes I did. Honestly, I think the Blast headlight may be the same thing as the M2 / X1 headlight. I liked the shape of this Puig better, and it's dark smoke tint to match my airbox cover, which you can't get on the Blast.

Delta: that's a possibility, but don't really have the stuff to do it at the moment. Might give it a shot later on.

Midknyte: I'm doing this purely for the aesthetics. I'm strongly considering some Napoleon bar end mirrors as well.

Thanks for all the compliments!

Is there any room to move the the headlight and bracket downward on the fork tubes? If not, what are the limiting factors?

Yes and no. With these fork tube clamps, there's a rather large "block" on the back side for 2 small bolts. That block comes in contact with the frame, and shortens the distance you can turn the bars. Also, you'd have to get some rubber adapter inserts, as the forks quickly narrow behind the flyscreen.
