I just bought a wrecked '07 XBR. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the rear seat cowl off. Any ideas?

I am going to ask the obvious, did you try the key in the lock on the left side of the bike? If so and it still won't work, it is possible the latch was damaged.

Slide the cowl towards the rear after unlocking it.

I'm so oblivious, I never saw a lock on the left side. Never assume I'm not clueless! That's the side it took a good hit on so it may not be there. The key is bent in two directions, but it does work in the fuel cap. I'll check tonight for the lock!

Thanks for the help! Found the lock, it's packed solid with mud, the key won't go in, but I can see the release on the back. I should be able to get it off. Thanks again!
