The Buell rolled off the kick stand this morning in the driveway. Broke the left front turn signal and scraped the frame protector and hand guard. I hate it when a new bike goes down for the first time.

I've been thinking about some bar end protectors and axle sliders lately. This incident will motivate me to finally get some.

Always make sure your XB is pointed up hill when it's on the stand.

Always make sure you extend the kickstand all the way by pushing it forward with your foot before setting it all the way down. Then you can park it uphill, downhill(in gear), any way you want.

... and don't let it idle unattended. It will come looking for you.

Ulynut: trusting you and all but I kick it forward AND make sure it's parked uphill.

Can't even leave a Blast unattended, mine walked backwards to the left about 30 feet on more than one occasion.

The Firebolts, in particular, are bad about rolling off the side stand. They just don't have enough lean to deal with the vibration of the idling motor. I was able to save mine the only time it went over by throwing myself under it. From then on, never left it alone while idling and always parked it uphill and in gear.
