If anyone would be so kind. I need the distance between the forks, the diameter of the forks at the lower triple tree, and the overall length ofthe forks, from an '03/'04 XB. The research is for my S2 project, which currently sports XB wheels and brake on my factory forks and swingarm. The WP ROMAS need rebuild anyway, and I'd rather ditch the unsprung weight of the steel caliper adapter (~1 lb).

What if you just bought the entire triple tree to go with the forks. Then all you would need is the diameter of the steering shaft to make sure it fits the bearings.

Because using the XB triple trees would negate quite a bit of turning radius because the location of the pinch bolts hit the frame before the rest of the triple.

My calipers and measuring tape are at a friend's house but I can pick those up and get you some pics and measurements by the end of the weekend, if nobody had done it by then.

Rich, you're my hero once again. I probably never would've started my XB wheel conversion had I not seen yours on the XLF back then. Thanks.

From the Netherlands here!

The distance between the forks at lower triple are 14cm
Diameter of the fork at the lower triple tree is between 53,85/53,95cm
and the overall length of the forks (with wheel of the ground) is 74,04cm

You are welcome!

I try again!

The diameter of the forks at the lower triple tree should be 53,85/53,95 mm
My mistake!

thanks for the heads up. So the diameter of the fork at the lower tree is basically the same as the top tree? Then I don't see why the tuber trees shouldn't work right?

Yes the diameter is the same ,but not over the full length!
Only the first 5,5cm from above are 53,85/95mm after that they are smaller for some 18+cm and then the are 53,85/95mm again over a distance of 5,5cm.
The total distance between the upper and lower triple of a XB is 20,06cm.

Maybe this info also is help full!?
