Ok..I'm thinking about replacing my newly acquired City X's front fairing. I was going to go the gas mask route..but it is something more than a few XB's have already. So, after cruising Ebay and seeing that an Avon mask was going to run me close to $90 after shipping from the UK, I decided that I would look into maybe replacing the whole front for a few $$'s more.

So, this is the style I'm looking for. I realize this seller on Ebay is overseas, and this is likely a cheap knock off of something else, with inferior lights and plastics (I could be wrong). So what I'm looking for is if anyone has seen this fairing or something really close somewhere else.

My next plan of action will be to take the front off and see how much room I'm actually working with and if I can keep the stock dash gauge or not.

Thanks in advance.

Never seen this fairing but I would take some measurements and compare them to your bike to see what your working with. Maybe even print out the picture of it to scale and tape it to the front of the bike to see how you like it. Also I would go through their recent feedback to see if anyone complains about the quality of his stuff. It looks like the angle that the headlight aims at might be kind of weird. Like it would be pointing out off the front of the bike a good bit.

Inya, that's a good looking fairing... never seen it before.

As for mounting it, Fly'n'Cycle has a fork mounting kit for cheap. Look in their headlight bracket section.

Aren't standard headlamp bulbs 55w? Those say 25w. I would check into that before buying.

Thanks for the replies..

Guys/Gals, I know this fairing on ebay is a piece of junk most likely. That's why I'm looking for another source, as this is most likely a knock off.

Swordsman, thanks for the mounting kit advice. I'll look it up.

Oddalloy, I noticed that too. Gave me a chuckle.

Bromanowski, That's pretty much what I planned on doing as far as fitment...but since I really wasn't planning on spending $$ on THIS auction and hoping to find another source, I was going to wait until I found the one I planned on ordering.

If it comes with 25w bulbs, chances are 55w bulbs will melt the reflector and housing... XBR headlights all over again!

That's what I was thinking. Originally, I was like 'Just upgrade the bulbs'..but I read so many stories of people doing that and ending in a melt down disaster. I'm trying to avoid that.

have you looked into newer model GSXR headlight assemblies? you would probably have to do the same amount of jerry rigging to make them fit but they look awesome. also very plentiful on ebay.

It said that in has 'balls' not bulbs. You could be into something else all together!

Go 35 watt HID's! Significantly less heat, with significantly more light output!

Problem solved.

I do kind of like that fairing though. Seems like it would be hard to mount and fit just right though.

LOL @ Etennuly. Yeah..talk about d_ck-in-a-box for christmas! : )

Chessm, that's what this assembly reminds me of, and I'm already on Ebay researching it.

It seems that everytime I find something I like and looks different, the cost goes up!!

Should be OK. They're just standard balls-nothing weird.
