I bought a Ulysses XT 5 weeks ago and now that I have a couple thousand miles on it I think this bike might become my all time favorite bike. This bike replaces my 04 Triumph Tiger. The Tiger was a really good bike, I put 89,000 miles on it, but I never really warmed up to the triple. Guess I'm a 2 cylinder guy. Still need to sell the Tiger.
Anyway, I
also have a 96 1100 Sport Moto Guzzi, with 122,000 miles. I'll take that bike to the grave. I noticed alot of Triumph riders also have Guzzi's in the garage. I was wondering how many Buell owners are Guzzi enthusiasts as well.

Next street bike I get will be a Goose. Always liked them but they seemed a bit old school to me. However I've seen some of the new one and they look sweet. Now thats a bit down the road as my Buell's only 2 years old and the KLR is 6 months in my garage.

I just don't have time or space for all the toys I want!

Not a Guzzi enthusiast, but I've got a Triumph triple in the garage (01 Sprint ST 955). Great bike...smooth, fast, great mileage, comfortable, and dependable. The Buells are just more fun and get ridden more.

I've lusted over Guzzi's for a long time, probably the quirkiness that i love my Uly so much for.
not that i'm too serious but how much for the tiger?

I think this bike looks amazing, although I wouldn't trade my XT in on it.

Wouldn't mind having both of them in the garage though.

I've got a Guzzi in the stable. My first bike, a Breva 750.

I was actually shopping for a V11 LeMans when the deals on Buells happened and ended up with a Uly XT.

Bobbuell, I'm looking to get about $4000 for the Tiger. It's got $1000 of accessories, center stand, corbin seat, and Givi top case. And I sealed the spoke nipples to run the tires tubeless on the spolked rims. And it's in Florida

That Stelvio is a special model and gets a premium price. The LeMans is more beautiful in person than the pictures suggest. I like the Baby Breva ( the 750 ) even more than the 1100. But my dream is the Griso. I really wish they would bring the 850 Griso here but right now all they offer is the 1100 and now the 1200 4 valve.

Dad, thanks for the response, as said only entertaining the thought in my head.
i have a new CR expected to drop in the next couple of day so it would be hard to justify another 4k +shipping but does'nt hurt to ask, could be a bargain
Glad you are enjoying the Uly,40k on mine and as you said i'll ride her till the grave.
ride safe,Bob

in 2004 and 2005 I had a Moto Guzzi Breva 750 I loved the bike for commuting but didn't care for it in the corners but it was Beautiful! The other thing that I really didn't like about it was there was only one Moto Guzzi dealer in my state. I went to the Moto Guzzi group and attended one of their cook outs and it was really small too.
I want to ride the Tiger and see what its about. The Uly is the best bike I have ever owned. K

How are the engines in Guzzis? I've heard when you wrench on the throttle the bike wants to twist to the right with the way the engine is laid out. My buddies got a Grisso 8v but I wont touch it with a ten and a half foot pole. Not cause I dont dig it, I love it, but because its so flashy and rare, and with my luck I'd end up getting a ticket since it's a frickin rocket. Still, nothing compared to my scg. What about Hondas new VFR1200F tranny? It's got two gears that are simultaneously engaged, with a drive managed by double clutches. You can ride it like an auto, semi auto, or completely manual, and in auto the engine matches rpm speed when downshifting so you dont lurch forward like the old honda auto trannys.

Hey, I've had three Guzzi's over the years and one was a sport 1100i (fuel injection). I loved them all and was looking for another when I decided on Buell. By the way, anyone stressing the fuel injection glitches on Buell 1125s should ride the 1100i. It was reeealy unruly below 300 rpm.

The Guzzis do have a little torque roll at a stand still, but it's non-existent when you're rolling. That fuel injection on the 1100i was easily remidied with a piggy-back unit similar to a power commander but right now the name of it escapes me. I've been entrenched in the Guzzi community for nearly 20 years now. Not having a dealer near by isn't a problem if you can do your own wrenching. Parts are just a phone call away and 3 days out. Guzzi rallys are pretty laid back. Bunch of old guys sporting suspenders sitting around a campfire telling lies and drinking beer. Lots of the bikes the guys ride into the rallys are over 30 years old, have hundreds of thousands of miles on them, and still make their owners grin from ear to ear. I personally know one old guy who traded his 74 850T with 450,000 miles on it for a new 750 Classic. He just got too old to handle the weight and wanted something lighter. Anyway, I love my Guzzi, but I sure am loving my new Uly too! In fact, I haven't ridden my Guzzi since I got the Uly. I was born and raised in Milwaukee so I guess it's only right that I have a "Harley" but I never thought my "Harley" would be such a great bike.

When I was in the Navy in the 80s I rode my bicycle by the Guzzi dealer in National City on the way to the ship every day from my little apt. Always thought the bikes were way cool.

I love Guzzis. I spent a few months waiting for a clean V11 to surface locally not too long ago. Never found one, though.

They make great cafe racers and dirt trackers, too!

my little 750 had the torque roll too when sitting still
There is a really good book out by a female Guzzi rider called The Perfect Ride
Its about her love for an Old Guzzi she had bought and the first few pages of the book are beautiful writing

I'm new to the Buell world. I bought a new 09 Uly XT a few weeks ago. Only have about 500 miles on her so far but I'm really smitten by the XT.

I hope Guzzis make sliders for their heads. Looks like that would be the first thing to hit the ground in the event of a crash or a tip-over. Otherwise, that'd be one hellaciously expensive tip-over fix.

They don't make sliders for the heads but they do have head guards. That previous picture of the orange bike with the number 80 on it has them. Oh, I thought of the name of the chip to fix the fuel injection on the 1100i, the Will Creedon chip. That "speedtona" looks great.
