Has anyone here had the opportunity to ride a monster 1100? I really like the looks and think that will be my next motorcycle. Although it will have to wait until there are some used ones rolling around I won't spend $12,000 on a bike |

lol...........I was just looking at the same bike today. However the horses and torq numbers aren't all that impressive compared to my Buell. So I'm holding out until those, or some, bikes are significantly better then my current ride. just the same, it's a very nice looking bike! |

I have ridden a Monster 1000 DS and a Hypermotard that has the 1100. There was a year or 2 between the test rides and didn't notice a big difference between the 2 engines. I also rode a Multistrada and from these 3 test rides I am not a fan of air cooled Ducs. You can not ride them below 3500 rpm even if there isn't any load on the engine as in going down a hill. After being unimpressed with the rides I went one I'd hop back on my Buell and thought "yeah this is what a big air-cooled twin is suppose to feel like". They are smooth and sound cool with a nice exhaust though. Now the liquid cooled Ducs are another story, I'm in love with those. |

I'd go with an Aprilia RSV4, not only is it a nice bike, but everytime I get on mine I always laugh and say, "HD will never get their v4 to work, never". Because quite frankly HD's mindset is completely different than Aprilias. Aprilia wanted to make a V4 for racing, HD wanted to make a v4 so people could brag that they have a V4. |
