So far the clutch setup is barnett carbon fiber plates and the competition clutch spring from Rivera Primo. It is very stiff at the lever and I am looking into other options that might hold the power but not be so hard on my left forearm: )

I'm sorry I couldn't bring the front end up more, the road was wet and the rear broke loose before the front wheel could come up much. I'll be taking another longer video with some better accel runs and keep my headlight from blinding the camera so much. May be at the drag strip?? We will see...

Out of pure curiosity, what did you do to the clutch to stop the slipping??

Hogs:

What would I ride if I sent this to you? And how would I do any further development on my design? I'll tell you what. You come buy the house two doors down from me and move in. You can rent the bike from me when you want to haul ass and I can continue development: ) Everyone can be happy!

Greg_e:

I am interested in looking at other cam options. I know the stock overlap may be inhibiting ultimate performance from the turbo but I don't have any real experience with cam grinds/forced induction-- only what I have read. Any suggestions?

Fast 1075:

Progression of the clutch assembly:

Stock started slipping when I hit the 126hp/101ft-lbs with 7psi boost.

Replaced stock plates with Barnett's carbon fiber kit.

That held until the most recent power.

I then upgraded the stock spring with a Rivera Primo Competition spring.

It seems to be holding now but the lever action is tough.

G234146:

My buell is a 2005 XB12scg. You would have to change a few little things about my setup to have this design work on your 06. The biggest difference is the blocked off port through the left side frame rail that would force the turbo intake plumbing to go outside the frame to the throttle body---on yours.

two things I must mention.

1. elbows out! this thing has balls!

2. cant really hear the turbo waste whistle between gears when your screaming "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

all seriousness though, you have worked long and hard Ericz, glad to see your still hard at work and getting the fruits of your labor. ONWARD!!!!

The only thing I know is something I read in a book many years ago, and that was when you go with a supercharged vehicle you almost always want to change the cams so that you do not have the valve overlap between intake and exhaust. Best bet would be to contact someone like RedShift and ask them, I'm sure they know something on the subject. You may be able to get away with a shorter duration on the intakes so you may only need to buy the 2 intake cams and should be about half the price. They may even be able to regrind your stock cams to meet this which may save you a lot of money. Non-boost low RPM performance will suffer, but you might make up for that in top end boosted power. Might straighten out your boosted HP and torque curves too, I noticed they were a little wiggly (or is that bouncing off the waste gait?).

I can't imagine that much power on a bike with such a short wheelbase. You must wheelie like crazy. It'd be like riding a bucking bronco.

That is awesome! I love that turbo sound. You have been progressing well, I enjoy seeing the step at a time progress.

I bet you have to be a bit more steady on the throttle in the corners!

Hogs - I can tell you that your doubt is unfounded and incorrect. It makes this much power because Erik has put some crazy R&D into it and you are just jealous

No offense, I am too.
