I'm looking high and low trying to find a deal on a XB12. I was talking to someone on the phone tonight and he told me that there were several changes made from 2007 to 2008. One was a throttle position sensor, another was the oil pump. Does anyone know of a thread here in the forum that specifies these changes?

Thanks

2008 was a huge year for the XB motor, just about everything was changed on it including the crank and pistons.

Sounds like some good changes! Do these changes apply to ALL 2008 model year bikes? I have an '08 STT that I just bought that appears to have been manufactured in late '07 so I don't know how to tell if it has all these changes. Also, I thought I read somewhere that some of the early '08 ECMs (presumably leftover from '07) could be tuned with ECMspy, and that there was a number on the ECM you could look at to determine if it was one of them. Unfortunately, I can't find that thread! If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can direct me to it, that would be great.

Try to find a 2009, i don't think the '08s had the upgraded front brakes.

All 2008 MY bikes have the newer engine bits.

ECMspy - They got it mostly working with the first ones, but then the reflashes canceled it out. ECMspy development ended before updates to support the newer ones was released. Don't bother with ECMspy on a DDFI3 bike, your best bet is the DirectLink software.

2009 XB12 models got the ZTL2 brake caliper. CityX and Uly models didn't.

Easy way to tell is to look at the timing cover, on the 2008 engines its oval shaped

2007 and older is round
