I just read Sport Rider magazine. 1125cr outperforms the ducati in just about every category but looks. The reviewers had high praise for the CR. Later, geico had a congrats ad for Buell and Danny Eslick. This is the first time I really felt sad about the whole closing thing. Things are just getting awesome and... I guess we'll never know. Damn you HD!!!!!!!!!!! | ||

What's bleeding HD to death are their STUPID business decisions, like making sub-prime loans to people that can't afford motorcycles. Tell your dealer friend to think before he opens his mouth. | ||

That dealer does not know what he is talking about. Buell was a very small part of HD and it would be virtually impossible for Buell to bleed HD to death. HD's poor business model coupled with bad business decisions is what bled HD to death. | ||

From what I've read Indy Bueller hit the nail on the head... it was the finance arm that had the biggest losses... subprime loans on fatboys to beef up the sales logs. And Eric paid the price. for the level of technology and the size of the company Buell's prices were actually very reasonable... compare Buell's pricing levels to small volume european marques. I recently ran across some photos of the Buellcati... made me wonder how far off Eric might have been from such a creation... or what ideas\innovations he still had up his sleeve. Even if and when you want to root for HD... when you look at their XR1200 it simply pales in comparison with any of the sport buell's. and what would you have given up the new rotax platform or the VRSC (or whatever the heck it is) overweight water buffalo that HD is KEEPING in the lineup. that bike if just plain fugly. end rant  | ||

I have an XR1200 as well as an XB12S. Though the XR won't lean as far as the XB, they are both loads of fun to ride. I'm disappointed and think it's a mistake that HD discontinued Buell (my wife also has a Blast), but at the same time I have to give them credit for things they have done right, and the XR1200 is one of them.
