I've read that buell has an article on their website describing how to adjust the suspension setting to a given weight. Where can I find this information? I have an 06 CityX

Your owners manual. You have read it right? ; )

You can view them on Buell.com if you don't have one.

I bought the bike less than a week ago and haven't had time to get a manual yet. I looked through the manual that I found on their website but couldn't find it. What section would it be under?

Wish they had the 2003 XB9 owner's manuals online. The service manual also has some of this info.

How does one "stiffen" up the rear suspension on an XB12S?

Best bet is to visit a local suspension shop that specializes in these set-ups. Have never done that with a Buell (just bought my first one 2 days ago) but I have a shop set-up all my Ducatis. Night and day in ride quality and feedback.

I did mine like the owners manual said. Not hard if I can do it. I am a sfelt 330 lbs and 6.0 tall. The bike came way soft. Front end dive was terrible. Busted out the book and twisted as it says and all is pretty decent now. The ride is harsh compared to my V strom 1000 but its a totally differnt bike. I like it so far sept for the wind blast. BDRAG

I just setup my suspension today. (probably should've done it before my 1100 mile ride?)

Can't wait to go play now!

Guys, setting the suspension is dead easy.

Go to the website, print out the page. For an '03, use the earliest 9R there. (You can find manuals online but this forum strongly supports actually buying them.}

At home, set the bike to your weight following the manual.

Think of a rough stretch of road that's about highway speed.

Take the printout, pen/cil, the two tools you need, make number of passes. Change the settings, keep notes, enjoy.

I've got the service manual now so I'm good.
