EDIT:::2005 XB12R

While out riding today I noticed a thump feeling upon heavy accel/decel.

Upon looking at the front isolator I could see the rubber that connects the part was ripped/cracked.

I refuse to pay H/D to repair her as they dont get my money no more.

I am going to be attempting to do the repair myself and am confident I can.

BUT....I am looking at my repair manual and cant find the rotate section?

NOTE:I dont think I need to rotate but would like to replace the plugs also.

I am also wondering since I am rotating the motor what else should I do?

I just had the 1K service done including> Motor oil,Trans oil, front fork oil repl.

I think the prior owner didnt treat her right and the plugs could use a change.
What are the part numbers for the NGK plugs or what do you recommend?
Also where do I find specs in the manual for plug gaps?

Sorry for seeming rather helpless but im just really frustrated after the past two weeks.

go here, and use anything from the V-Rod column (i forget who originally posted that info, but thanks!). you don't need to rotate your motor to change your plugs.

you also don't need to rotate your motor to change your front isolator. the job is like 15 minutes with a floor jack.

Alright second question is what NGK plugs do I use on my XB12R with a mapped race ECM,flow through exhaust(I'll post pics later),open airbox,AND I'm living in Florida which is hot as hell 95% of the time?

I know there is different heat index's and am unsure anybody else know about this?

The exhaust is header into 1 chamber then chamber into dual cherry bombs. The last owner made it and it sounds great just need to remove it and get it painted as his paint isn't holding up.

I also have the race pipe but this sounds and performs better since it's been mapped.

Big,

No need to rotate the motor to replace the plugs, and in fact you need to hold it up when you replace the front isolator.

An easy way to do this not mentioned in the shop manual is to use a tie down strap around the steering head and the motor, or putting the motor on a rear stand and a jack under the motor.

Very easy to replace the front isolator. Three bolts if I recall.

There is a recent thread on spark plug removal. check it out.
