I use to own a XB12R but sold it a few months ago. I now own a BMW R1200GS. I miss the XB and I'm considering a new XB12XT as a second bike. The dealer in Portland just cut the price on all XBs $3,000. They also cut the 1125 price by $5,000.

So now I can get a new XB12XT for 10K, this seems like a bargain, is it?

I found a local dealer (to me) who will sell a 2008 XT for $8500. Not good enough for me, so I bought an 1125R today.

I'm going to my dealership tomorrow to see how low they will go. On the phone the guy said he wanted to move them out as soon as possible. They dropped the prices the same amount as Blackdog's dealership. We'll see what happens. Maybe come home with a 1125R/CR, Uly, or Firebolt.

I'd move on it if I had the money. I would absolutely love to own a 1125, but unless they'll let it go for 1500 bucks I don't think I'm in luck, LOL

I'm wondering if now is the time to buy as well. Not like I need another bike, but just got back from test riding the 1125CR.. way too much bike, but for $5000 off, it's hard to resist!!

xb12scg is my current/first bike, and the 1125 made me feel the same as I did when I got the xb....what am I getting myself into!?? accidentally pulled a wheelie in 2nd gear just rolling on the throttle during the test ride!!

Awesome machine!

Blackdog - if that new XT is a 2010 model, then $8500 is a decent price. If it's an 09 I would look elsewhere.

I picked up a brand new 09 XT yesterday for $7941 OTD.

BTW, they're still offering the "Hard to Say No" financing program. They offered me 3.99% at 36 months w/ 10% down. I'm 22 years old with good but limited credit history if that gives you some idea of what could be available to you..

"what am I getting myself into!??"

I've asked myself the same question after buying my second, third, and fourth Buells.

If you find something that speaks to you, go for it. You won't regret it.

My wife and and I have been talking about getting an Xb for me so that she can ride the Blast. When I told her about Buell, the 1st thing she said was "do we need to go buy your new bike?" I'm not sure about it. I just sort of thought the dream was over. But the way you guys are talking, I'm feeling like maybe there's hope. What about parts, service, warrantees, all that stuff? I'm not knowledgeable enough (yet) to handle service alone so I need to know that someone can work on my bike even if the HD dealer won't. Would I just be buying a soon to be collector's bike that's impossible to get parts for and no one will work on? Although... if I knew the Badweb would be around for support...

I would not hesitate to buy an Xb now, but with the 1125 there might be a spare parts problem in a few years, not that many made with few interchangeable parts.

I just went into the local Los Angeles HD dealer this morning and asked them what was the price on a lightning long (the vin sticker said DEC. 2008). The sales guy said, "I don't know... let me ask." He came back few minutes later and said to make him an offer. He then said that he doesn't think I could get half off like some place in Texas, but I should be able to get a good deal. This is without me mentioning the half off deals others have reported online. He then said "here is my card, go home think it over and then make an offer... you never know what they'll take here!" He said that last part as he winked.

Not that I need another bike, but what would you offer on a XB12Ss?

I just walked away from $5900 out the door for an new 09 CR. I could write a check for it out of my line of credit, or go with their financing which I'm sure would have been a good rate. It's a fantastic deal on a wonderful bike...but the damned economy has our business suffering right now, and I just could not justify the debt. I've managed to make it to 32 years without owing anybody a dime other than my mortgage...now seems like a bad time to start. I need to go for a rip on the X1 now...

Today I walked away from a screaming deal on an '09 XB12R. Why? I got to thinking about Erik's video and I'm wondering what he will be building in two years?

It may not say Buell but it will definately have the Erik Buell stamp on it so I'm going to wait. I already have an XB race bike and an 1125R street bike so I'd just be hording if I bought another one.

The next Erik Buell bike could easily make what we're riding now look like something from the Flintstones!

"I would not be able to walk away from $5900 out the door, nope."

trust me- very difficult to do. I could have written a check out of my line of credit and rode it home today. chalk it up to some financial maturity- I'd much rather buy a bike a year or two from now when I can actually afford it, than save a few thousand $$ by buying it now when it might put me in a bad spot financially. sucks on one hand, feels good to have made a decision I won't regret on the other. besides, I have an X1 and and XB9S waiting in my garage. : )

plus, this way I figure I'll be better prepared to buy Erik's next creation!

Best I've seen is $7300 OTD, but i'm not sure I like it that much. I might wait and get a 2010 z1000. It's sad there won't be anymore American street fighters.

Has each HD/Buell dealership payed for their current inventory? How does that system work? I'm just wondering for the accessories & clothes... How much of a deal are the dealerships able to give us?

The manager at American HD in Ann Arbor said he was waiting to hear from HD about whether they would get rebates so that they could move the stock for cheap or if HD was just going to buy it all back from them. Said he'd know in a week.

There's another dealer out here that I should definitely check. It sure is tempting.

I also walked away from a $6K deal on an 1125 yesterday. Like Andy, I could have just written a check for it and called it the day. But I walked for a different reason. I took the CR out for a good long ride back in the summer and tell you the truth, it just did not grab me. Call me old fashioned, call me romantic, but the ride made me love my X1 that much more. It is not anywhere as powerful or as refined as the CR, but its raw, its visceral, its all soul...Its all about emotion. The sales guy said I was the first and only person who had complained about the 1125 to be too refined...Each man to his own.

Blastronmer,

Did he say what they plan on pricing the 1125R's at? I'm also in Michigan and Ann Arbor isn't to far. Would love to pick one up in Michigan instead of shipping if need be. Shoot me a email off the list if its easier. Maybe we can get a group buy going to get a even better deal? dan87951 at gmail dot com.

Damn you guys are getting some very nice deals. Here in California no such luck. 8600 so far from the places i have checked. They do not care to slash prices that much as they are flying out the door.

Nextcorner,

Not exactly sure how the system works, but I'll tell you what my dealer told me. Hopefully someone can chime in to confirm/dispel...According to him, HD is offering a rebate on existing stock. For the 1125R, the rebate is $3500. Subtracted from an invoice price of $8k, that leaves you with $4500 which is what I got it for. The only hitch here is that in order to qualify for the rebate, the dealer needs agree to provide full Buell support for 10 years. Take this for what its worth: words from my dealer's mouth, not mine. YMMV.

I picked up a new 2008 STT for $5,995.00 plus the dreaded freight/handling. Probably not a stellar deal but pretty damn good! Not as many new STTs around as 1125s.

DanXb,
I didn't ask about the 1125's but there were probably 3 R's and a CR in the showroom. I was more interested in the Xb12's they had which were still listed at like $10,000 for 2009's. He said 24 Buells in stock but only 7 or 8 in the showroom including a yellow Blast. He said he'd know more in a week. Also said that HD would be supporting Buells for 7 years. 1324 said his dealer mentioned 10 years. Are things just still chaotic and the dealers just don't know what's up yet? I need to get over to the dealer in Tecumseh to see what the story is there.

Tecumseh Harley.. thats a laugh!

They won't budge from MSRP knowing them. My parents live there and I tried to buy a bike a few years back from them. Total experience was a joke. I hope you have different luck than I do. If you do PM me.
