I designed and fabbed a billet sprocket cover for my XB. I have run it on the bike for about 6 weeks now and there are no issues. I am planning on putting together a run of full open sprocket cover kits. I will do the first run of kits this week and they will go up on ebay next week hopefully. Here are a few pics.

They are cut on a CNC mill out of 6061 aluminum. Bolts and spacers will also come with the kit. Also, for these kits there will be flush mounted bolts unlike the picture.I looked for a kit myself for a while, but the only thing I found was rizoma and another British company which were both over $200. My kit will be far less but I havent decided on a final price. What do you guys think? Good idea?

Very nice. I would be in for one that is not painted. I'll make it shinny

I will keep you guys updated on when they will go on sale. All badwebbers get free shipping! Sorry I cant just sell them on here but its a sponsor thing. I will just give the option of natural aluminum, black, or charcoal. Im thinking $99.95 for the kit and flat rate boxes for all of them. Just send me an email on ebay and tell me you are a badwebber and Ill take off the shipping for you! Thanks guys, keep the responses coming and Ill keep you posted when they will go up.

I think it looks very nice.

However, I do believe that it leaves the electrical wiring in front of the sprocket exposed to the elements. Perhaps not a great idea.

I solved this problem by cutting down the stock plastic sprocket cover, and using the front under the prototype Drummer cover.

Looks like this.

Perhaps you should make sure that yours will allow this modification too. Looks like it will.

In my installation, the spacers are small enough in diameter to go into the recessed holes in the cut down Buell plastic sprocket cover.

Hey - sponsorship here is barely over $50 a month and makes this type of thread legitimate.

As we've found in the past, using Badweb for free market research kinda steps on the sponsors who PAY for the same thing.

If you sold them through a sponsor, that'd be way cool.

There are a few sponsors who already do sell billet sprocket covers.

Gentlemanjon, that is a nice setup and yes my kit would work for that it a different sized front spacer were used.

Slaughter, I will consider that. I am just making 8 kits in the first run and will see how they do. If they sell like hot cakes I will make probably 50 more and sell them on here with a sponsor. Ill see how it goes. What sponsor sells a kit?

You can't really see the cover well because I had to reduce the size so much but you can see the fullsize pictures on my photobucket:
