Well these seem to be cheap enough these days...

Have many used the 55 Watt units over the 35 Watt units without any problems and or should one use a Relay with heavier wiring if one goes with the 55 Watt Units?

Some info from their site..

Select the base 35W systems with a typical output of 3200 lumens which is up to 3X the output of a typical halogen bulb. Or step up to our 55W systems for an astounding 5000 lumens, a 40% increase. This is the option for those that ride long distance, cross country or who mix it up in the twisties and need maximum light.

So Why Not go with the 55 Watt units then I ask???

Either kit are like just 50.00 bucks give or take..

What do ya all think?
Also I myself would just go with the 4500 Want White Light not Blue...
Thanks

I have been using 50w HID units from DDM-Tuning. I love them, no issues. Bright enough that I can see the light reflecting off those overhead highway signs in broad daylight.

Frog, did you get DDM brand or the cheaper Raptors? Everyone recommends the DDMs.

The DDM units. Mine are a year old at this point, they have survived everything I had done to it, including rear-ending a car so hard the headlamp assembly broke off.

Froggy,
Do you run both high and low beams or just the low beam,? IF both does it take awhile in seconds for the high to light up etc. switching off and on?

Yes I run both. Honestly, the low beam is so good I only use the high beam when I feel like confusing low flying aircraft. : D

Yes, HID bulbs (all brands and wattages) take a few seconds to light up to max brightness. The "Flash" feature is pretty much useless unless I already had the high beam on and warmed up, but I never used it anyway.

Both seems to be the best option, why not. Instead of seeing the deer pop out in front of your bike, you can see it peeing in the woods, looking at ya from the field and then running in front of your bike.

JUSt wonder if one say put 3000 for low beam which are more like a fog glare and then say 5000 for Highs wonder if that wd. be the best of both worlds sort of speaking

JAson13 I think the relay gives more Direct , Heavier gage wire to feed the HID`s straight from the battery , that way the power feed for the lights have stronger current draw over heavier wired direct from the battery.....

The really just connects the power directly from the battery on the NEW heavy wire instead of the thinner wire Stock that feeds the head lights now..

Guys correct me IF I have this wrong???

I use the 35w (High and Low) and they light up the world.
I wired up the head lights so that both the low beam and high beam are on when the switch is on "high beam." The low beam HID is more than sufficient (IMO).

DDM 35W & 55W Dual Motorcycle HID System

A friend and I both have XBS 9's. Can we split this system and both at least get low beam?

Yes they are just like standard bulbs. Hi and low beam are determined by the reflector. They do have a single bulb kit if I recall, but it would be cheaper to buy the dual kit vs two individual.

Thank you, One more thing. It looks like the kit comes with one of each? Is this the case? If so we would have to decide who gets which kit. Am I understanding this?

Looks like they changed their website a bit. You used to be able to pick say a 6000k and 8000k in the dual kit. Now it says buy two singles. : (

quote:

**NOTE** This setup will get you 2 bulbs (same bulb type and color) and 2 ballast. If you need two different bulb types or two different colors, then you will need to purchase two "Single Kits"

I finally got the time to install mine today and I made a wiring diagram to refer that might be helpful. I also went for a ride tonight, and WOW! Big time light difference. My high beam with an upgraded halogen bulb was almost useless.
