I just bought an XB9R and there is a little switch under the clutch lever that gets pressed in when you pull the clutch...what is it for? The reason I ask is that mine is moving around and when I pull the clutch it doesn't always line up correctly.
My initial guess is that it's the safety switch so you can't start the bike with the clutch out....is that right?

The only switch I know of on that side of the left handlebar is the one that flashes the highbeam (passing light).

this one is down underneath the clutch lever...it is not actuated by your hand but rather by the clutch lever itself.

Its for starting the bike in gear.

Note to self: must get a ulysses and learn how the xb line works..

If you had an 04+ XB or 1125, you would know that wasn't true. They don't have kickstand switches. All the clutch switch does is prevent you from starting in gear with the lever out. ; )
