Any secrets to keeping the outer turn signal lens on the bike? I haven't had my "new" 04 for 2 weeks and the outer lens is now gone. |

how about the screw? there's a clip on the inner side of the lens which is easily broken, but the screw will hold it on there good enuff... as lond as it's not over torqued cuz the plastic threads will strip. ... i scotch-taped a cracked lens on for a while (Message edited by nillaice on September 27, 2009) |

There is a screw and a clip that holds it all together. I bet the bike was dropped or something smashed against it cracking the tab and screw. |

I get it now, the plastic is still on the screw so it was either over tightened or maybe it just doesn't like wheelies . Now to see if I have to buy the whole assembly or just an outer lens. |

you can get the outer lens, but it might be easier (depending on how friendly you local stealership is) to go with some aftermarket signals. Pus, then you can 'upgrade' to LED's and sell your stockers on here for $10 each. |

Mine broke after the bike idled of the kickstand (watch out for that). It snapped together and some black electrical tape completed it. It's been there over a year and nobody has noticed it. |

According to the parts book, the outer lens is available separately. This is the part number from the 03 XB9R parts manual: Y0039.K The retail price is less than $5.00 |

I bought a couple outer lens at a H-D clearance sale, less than $10.00 for both. I also got a set of footpegs, WHY don't they keep them in stock? They were right at $35.00 for the pair. But You can't ride without them. NOW I'll never break another one! ![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/lol8.gif) |

yeah, the lens itself is inexpensive, but if it's a 'special order' as most buell parts are from my local stealership, then you are charged a quick 5 spot for the order. and pegs used to be 25 a set. as of this summer i see they are more now. |
