the rear tire on my cityx is starting to show the ware indicators on the rear tire 8000mls i want a tire that has a harder center is there one for the buell? is 8000 mils to low for the tire to wareout? | ||

Depending on the tire.... I had pirelli corsa III's on my 09 firebolt and wore out 3 rears in 9200 miles. Insane wear rate. And each rear was around $250. This last time I needed both front and rear so I went a different route. I picked up a set of pirelli diablo rossos and have about 2200 miles on them. I am so glad I chose these as my tires. I have close to the same grip(little more warm up to really rail on them) but the wear in the middle during my commute miles is rather impressive. And at around $370 installed for the pair, I'm in 7th heaven! I have been rather impressed with these tires and would suggest them to any buell rider out there. | ||

the OEM diablo "T" on my 12 only went 1/2 that. pirelli has a new skin called the Angel ST, but i have a set of corscaIII's to wear out, first. | ||

Michelin Pilot Road 2's are the tire you want. Do a google search of this site, there are many reports on them. All good. | ||

The Pirelli Diablo Strada and Pirelli Diablo Angel tires are sport touring dual compound tires and are OEM on the XB12XT, so your dealer should have them. | ||

Check out the Dunlop road smart or Michelin Pilot Road 2. Both are dual compound to give you grip on the sides but still are hard in the center. I run my PR2's at around 32psi front 34psi rear. Now I ONLY ride in the hills, and my rear has less thread about half way between the center and the edge (area the tire is at when throttling hard out of corners) but the wear hasnt been bad. With more normal PSI's (if your not railing it in the corners you could run like 36/38 or even 36/42) it'll last a long time and still grip okay when leaned over, or grip REAL good if you drop the PSI for a day of fun  . I would not recommend the Corsa III, yes its a dual compound tire but its an aggressive tire for track and street use, not daily driving. It wont last that long. Oh no reason to only get dual compound those are just all I know about because I like to ride spirited in the twisties. LOTS of other single compound touring/sport touring tires that'll also get great straight line mileage. The Diablo T's are terrible for long straight rides. I had about 3,500 miles on them and they looked GREAT. Nice and round, still had some thread, and at that time I did do some longer rides. But then I road home from LA on Hwy 5, only got maybe 200 miles before I went from "wow these tires have good wear" to "oh shit, I am running on a flat spotted rear down to the chords!". They just couldnt stand up to a long ride at 90+mph... but then again I was probably running them at lower PSI's but NOTHING close to what I run the PR2's at. | ||

Lots of compound tire? Never heard of that technology  . Guessing you mean the belt is more flexible as it goes to the edge's, resulting in the edges flexing more, giving you more contact patch and more heating in the tire's as you lean over? | ||

Nope, I mean it lasts a long time because its got thicker tread than usual. | ||

Ahhh got yeah. I just finished installing my BT-016's! Brand new front and rear. Need to get some school work done now, but Ill probably wake the neighbors and go riding around 9PM. |
