Anybody ever modified their CityX seat? I'm thinking of putting some memory foam, and maybe a gel pad between the memory foam and the stock foam. Would shave a good bit of the stock foam off. Anybody ever done this? Trying to make the seat a bit more comfy without shelling over $200 or more.

Sure, I have done it. What do you want to know?

Wow! Where did you get the seat cover from? What kinda materials did you use in the seat? And overall, how much better is it than stock?

"Wow! Where did you get the seat cover from? "
I made it.

"What kinda materials did you use in the seat?"
Inserted rider position with orthopedic memory foam, and used a very firm foam for the rear contours.

"And overall, how much better is it than stock?"
I followed up with the owner after the seat was delivered and his response was "The seat is great. I road 250 miles Saturday."

Shape and support a big factors in comfort. The CityX seat being flat lacks a little on the support side, although it's good for being about to move fore and aft on the saddle.

What kind of discomfort are you having on the saddle?

Funny, I was just trying to find your website yesterday. It had been sent to me in a PM back when I asked about the Corbin and Select seats. God I wish I could afford one of your seats.

The problem I am currently having is the stock seat doesn't seem to have any support, or curve to it in the tailbone area. After about an hour of riding, my lower back and ass really start to get sore.

Geoff, Is lower back from being bent over or being to up right? How tall are you, and what's your weight and build? Maybe there is another stock seat that would fit you better or another solution.

My weight without gear is around 155-160lbs. I am roughly 5 foot 11 inches tall. I was wondering that my lower back pain might be because I am not fully upright, due to my height.

It does sound like with your lean build some orthopedic memory foam or a gel insert would help your comfort even with the stock seat shape. Consider doing just a gel insert to your stock seat. I deal with Pro Pad myself. I did a write up in the KV sometime ago on my Firebolt rider and pillion seats. Not really any different. A scooter seat is a scooter seat when it comes to doing that kind of thing.
