I used to own an FZ6... anyway, FZ6 group ride with a bunch of cool guys on Palomar yesterday (9/12/09)... total blast... the XB12S is indeed VERY fun on twisty roads... all I had in mind was the next corner and controlling the smooth controls of the nibble toy beneath me... awesome.

Palomar rocks... went up and down and up and across... apart from a few a-holes riding like total skids (very close call here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-0hZp2HqN8&e CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT???)...

and another dude who passes us right before the climb up and eats it on the first corner!!

2 cuts on his finger... but his bike...

You missed out on an epic SCAB group ride then... EPIC!

Pally is fun but in my own backyard so I guess I take it a bit for granted. Too many people treating it like a race track...

Nik: SCAB = Socal Buell I assume? Is there a thread about it on here? Will need to check it out : ) Agreed about the race track comment... a lot of stupid/scary ppl on there.

Southern California Area Buellers or something like that. The original Socal Group, currently organized by Al of American Sport Bike, not the newish group run by Wolf.

That is one scary YouTube clip.

What happened to the Aprilia, other than fall down go boom?

He saw a group of FZ6s getting close to the start of the fun twisty part... wanted to show off, passed everybody, and 100 yards later his bike was a guardrail ornament... he tucked the front pushing too hard... probably on tires that were not up to temp yet (first damn corner going up!!!).

dude, that aprilia crash must have been nuts, did he low side it? it looks like the wheels went under and the rest tried to go over top.... I guess the Aprilia wanted to give the guard rail a hug.

The frame snapped in 2 at its head, where the steering stem go through... low side and then it took 4 guys to get it out of the guardrail... the front wheel was stuck underneath it on the other side.... yeah that bad... imagine if that was his body instead... I still can't believe that all he had was a small cut on his finger...

Looks like you had fun! Glad to see you haven't forgotten about all the FZers. Crazy the Aprilia guy got off with only some finger cuts.
