I think they are 1 1/8" bars so you would need to buy a new handlebar clamp for the fat bars. | ||

What says that? The ends will definitely be 7/8" but I would think the center would be 1 1/8" | ||

A couple guys have put the CR bars on their XBs. I believe they used the Fat bar clamps from Precision Engineering. http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 13&cat=5&page=1 | ||

I like it... I never had stock but have ridden stock. the front end isn't as light as stock with this setup and I like that, but it feels a lot like the firebolt. pay close attention to your suspension set set up. it has taken me a while to get it dialed in, but I also put the firebolt pegs on my bike so I changed my position drastically and had to re do the whole thing. I am nearly there but the initial turn in feels a little wobbly when compared to my last clubman bars. it falls into the corners in a more aggressive manner. they are much more intensive on the arms than the stock bars but compared to other clubmans they are very relaxed. I can still do over 250 miles only stopping for fuel easily. they are very precise and provide a lot of input and feedback from the front tire as well as more grip due to the extra weight on it. and they look great in my opinion. Edit if you haven't ridden foreword like this it may take some getting used to and developing some "sport bike muscles" don't give up its worth it. they take a different kind of input and a different way of moving your body into the corners, after you get the hang of that it all becomes second nature again. They do look great in my opinion too. Thanks for the feedback, others switched back to stock or quasi-stock bars but as far as I read from you the CRs clubmans should be fine to me. I'll work with forks setting. Gianluca | ||

don't forget the rear settings... with more weight on the front you have less on the rear. I did one click less on pre-load and one more half turn out on compression dampening. set it up as you need to (so long as you know how) but my point is not to neglect the rear. | ||

heee ... it will take some more beer to finish.  What about the clutch? Did you routed it as xl_cheese did? I need to think how to handle the brake line as well ... Ill try to get detailed pics up soon for you but yes I did re-route the clutch cable but the brake was fairly simple. | ||

Best mod I ever did to the bike... Love the position. I used the precision fat bar adaptor, the slim model, its cleaner looking. Originally I had switch from OEM to this adaptor and a full length Pro Taper Carmichael (sp?) bend fat bar. I liked it more then OEM, a bit more forward, wider, but I missed that really tucked in feeling of a super sport (my R6). So I got the clubman. The bar itself fits fine but routing everything is a pain, kill switch must be rotated at an odd angle, hole must be cut for clutch cable to exit just left of the fly screen. But yeah the position is great. Bit less leverage, but more stable feeling. The bars are still wide enough to ride upright, almost super moto style, but clearly you are leaned forward a lot more then OEM. My point is, they arent as aggressive as a modern super sport. They are a bit higher up and wider. The wrist position is great to. Hanging off is so much more fun and more controlled with these bars rather then the pro tapers, or OEM. Simply put, I love mine. They look sexy to! They definetly look as if they belong on this bike. | ||

Apparently I had no need to make any hole for the clutch cable but I must admit it is a bit too twisty for my tastes. Do you guys know if the Uly clutch cable is a bit longer? 1in or so would make the routing more relaxed. I just removed the clutch lever and I was able to install it again on the bar with the cable already connected. A bit tricky but it worked. I could not test it on the road as I am waiting for the grips ...  It seems I am liking the buell even more now Gianluca   | ||
