I ordered the LED flasher from American Sport bike. In the mean time, did I do something wrong? The OEM flasher buzzes when I turn on the signal switch and the LED lights up but does not flash. Could it be: 1. I need the LED flasher to make it work 2. I inverted a ground somewhere 3. I had to splice wires together because the ••••••• were so short and perhaps I didn't get a good connection. I was going to give you an answer, but im Ravens fan so..... LoL ok but in the spirit of good sporting, yes you will need the LED flasher to get it to work right. If it still wont work correctly with the new flasher, ask again and i'll walk you through fixing it. | ||

Yes, you need the flasher relay. The LED signals don't draw enough current for the relay to work properly. You can either solder in some resistors at the signals or buy a new relay. The latter is easiest. American Sport Bike has them but you may be able to find a cheaper alternative. Do a search. | ||

There is no need for a new flasher. The led's are pulling so little current that the bike thinks the bulbs are blown. You need to wire in 2 8ohm resistors in the rear and it will blink like stock. An equilizer from american sportbike but it is way too expensive. Go to Radio shak and pick up 2 8ohm 20 watt resistors and wire one end to each rear ground and the other to the power. Takes 20 minutes total and the resistors are a dollar each. (Message edited by badbueller on September 12, 2009) | ||

Yeah you could go use resistors, but a new relay is much easier and wont heat up like resistors. plus he already has a relay on the way Badbueller. HAHA and the Eagles thought that was gonna be a good move?? What were they thinking! I'll see ya in week 12 Steelerbike. | ||

Thats weird Valiant Duke because mine work without the bike running. just have to turn the key to the on position. | ||

Mine did that too, but sometimes even with the bike running the relay would still buzz. It depends on the LED flashers and the condition of your battery. Getting a new relay IS the correct fix for this. | ||

Spend the $20, get the right relay, and try again. If you're getting light at all four lights - at the proper time - your wiring is correct. LED's are polarity-sensitive, if you had them wired wrong (backwards) they wouldn't come on. If you have one (or more) not working at all...reverse the wires that go to it (power and ground) and it should work. But nothing's gonna work right until you get a time-based LED flasher, and get the OEM load-based flasher out of there. | ||
