Since I bought my 05 XB12Scg, the random engine noises have been getting louder and louder. Some of the noise seems to be coming from the valvetrain. Are there any adjustments that can be made here? Preload? Gaps? Anything?

Thanks!

There are no adjustments. The only adjustment is the on the primary chain. A loose chain can make a lot of noise. My bike is an 05 and I just finished fixing my valvetrain noises that had been getting real loud as of late. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/491597.html?1252143389

Earplugs are cheaper.

But if you're looking to drown out the sound, get an iPod. That way you don't annoy everyone else.

The primary chain is good. I have a Jardine pipe, and even with earplugs, I can still hear pinging and other engine noises.

there should be no pinging(detonation)
thats is the death knell for an air cooled engine.for the long term anyways.
