Looking for a new seat that doesn't make my ass numb after an hour...is it worth it to spend the considerable extra cash on a corbin (gunfighter and lady w/backrest) over the touring saddle? Ideally I would need a seat that is good for riding 2 up as well...something with a little more passenger room than the stock seat.
Thanks!

Don't even consider Corbin, I have no idea how a company as horrible as them even still exists.

I agree with Froggy in as far as the customer service from Corbin, but I disagree about the seat. My wife and I rode over 500 miles through Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island without discomfort. The backrest is a welcome addition as it provides a safety measure for accidental wheelies. This is my second seat from Corbin and both are exceptional.

If you can find a used Corbin for a reasonable figure...buy it...I have a Gunfighter on my bike and it made an amazing difference (I rode nearly 500 miles this past weekend)..BUT..I will NEVER go thru the Bullcrap of buying another new Corbin again...my experience was horrible.

One the positive side, there is a Bueller that makes custom saddles that are very good...they are not "cheap"...look up Baldwin motorbike saddles.

Thanks for the tips on corbin...I do believe I'll be steering clear of them.

So now the same question revamped...the seat by Baldwin looks very nice, but is it worth the extra dough over the touring saddle?

Call Baldwin and ask them...tell them exactly what you want and expect...other than that, find more people that have done a saddle swap and get their opinion...

I don't ride an XB, so my input does not directly relate...I ride a Blast...the seat change turned my bike from getting money butt in 40 miles, to being able to ride as long as I want with no discomfort from the seat.

I would like to know the same thing. I have read a lot of posts about the touring seat. Some say it is a lower seat, some say it is not. Is it more comfortable or not? I have been eying the Corbin Gunfighter and Lady, but I HATE poor customer service. I like the fact that the Corbin seat has a backrest, but if I don't end up getting a Corbin... Has anyone made a backrest?
The Baldwin saddles look pretty nice, though no backrest. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Anymore insight on the Touring seat?

I've been talking (emailing) a lot with Loren at Baldwin...awesome communication and I feel like he will stand fully behind his work. His seats are fully custom, and he can help you with the backrest. You should call or email him.

I'll be ordering a seat from him as soon as I save up the necessary funds!

I have the touring seat, I love it. It was my pick out of the Buell made SS seats.

Thanks, Mike! I'll be working out some design details for the backrest support starting this weekend. I've been down this road a few times with my own saddles.

The touring seat is pretty good, I have done a 450 mile day and several over 300 on it. I think it needs a little more or denser padding for me though, I'm a big guy. I will probably send it out to get it worked over this winter.
