Do you have a cross motorcycle or Ural?
In Russia the winter will become in 3 months as in USA. And several of us will continue riding. : )

ive done ALOT of snow and ice riding, on street and dirtbikes. you dont have to have spikes. although it is nice some of the time. it just takes some finese.

i have ridden my 9 through many winters here with street tires on it. momentum is you friend(until you want to stop lol) its always funny seeing the looks on peoples faces when there are too many inches of snow on the rode and your riding home from work or wherever in a snowstorm.

Hello Pogue_mahone : )
I think the bike (with 2 wheels) is not good for riding for winter. I would ride on a showbike on the snow. Look at that video

Probably is there a kit to make a Buell bike like a showbike ? : )

No_rice: you're talking inches, we're talking feet.

Buddy had a Ural, rode it every day through the winter. Then spent most of the summer and the following winter and spring waiting for parts. Salt rust did so much damage, warranty covered it but I think the dealer is going broke fixing it, seriously.

Cool looking bike, though, and reverse.

no_rice where u live at?

central iowa.

No_rice: you're talking inches, we're talking feet.

i must have watched the wrong video then, because the one with the ktm on it shows him running mostly on rodes with barely any snow on them. heck, i can see payvment frequently. then when they are on the track, that is also a groomed type of trail. so BARELY inches much less feet.

and if i had to take a guess, id say the biggest snow ive plowed through on my 9 is a good halfway up the rim. now not a solid mile after mile, but a good few inches consistently, with many much deeper drifts to bust.

now if you want to talk deeper snow, then the dirtbike riding on the rivers and such is plenty of fun. average depth of the snow is well over a foot, before you go drift busting.

i guess i always grew up looking forward to winter so i could play in the snow on the bikes in between snowmobiling.

all I have to say is you guys are sick!
I live in Michigan and cant wait to get away from the snow and ice.

once I can afford to move down south away from all this nasty weather I'll never even look at another snow covered road.

but maybe that's just the Mexican in me

LOL

I ride snow every year, just put a set of MT-60s on it and stay to the deeper stuff, try and keep away from places with ice under the snow ! DAMHIK
