Can anyone that has this seat tell me if the center section could be replaced with a different color seat material?

I have seen some of these seats for a really good price, but they are the ones with the colored center section and I really want it to be all black.

It looks to me like you could take out the center section and have it recovered, but I want to make sure before I buy one.

Thanks in advance for any help all of you Buell Select Seat owners can give me.

The select seat is a pretty good deal even brand new.
I looked around for a long time trying to find a good deal but ended up just buying a brand new one.
I don't regret it at all.

Now, if you're thinking about getting a Corbin then it might be worth it to wait and watch. Those are really expensive brand new and I've seen some go for less than $200 here on BadWeB.

Well there is a Harley dealer on e-bay selling the blue or orange seat (insert) for $69 plus shipping. So for a total of $80 I can get a brand new seat.

All the ones I have seen otherwise have been $180 plus shipping. So, I think that is a pretty good deal unless the upholstery shop wants $100 or more for just that center section.

I better get some rates from the local shops I guess.

oh, damn that is a good deal.
Yeah I bet you can get it professionally stained/tinted or re covered for less than $100.
Just make sure you see some of their work first.
I've seen a lot of "professional" seats that look like crap.
You really need to have both the know-how and the skill to do it right.

I thought you could customize the seat directly from Buell.
