where the hell are you people finding the info on all the different right side scoops now offered by Buell? I can only find the $120 ones for the Uly's. I see posts about large scoops, small scoops....but all I can find is the scoop, fan shroud and pipe cover. Where is this info? I've looked at Buells catalog on line and found nothing,.
Thanks

i have both scoops too for my xb9sx, so i'll chime in. you can order the parts through your local harley/buell dealer. the larger scoop, p/n M0851.7AA(outer scoop)& p/n M0852.7AA(inner scoop) requires 3 screws, p/n AN1005.3FSS(my dealer had them in stock or you can get them at any hardware store). the smaller scoop, p/n M0854.7AA does not require any additional hardware, it just uses the 3 original torx screws from your stock right scoop.

The smaller scoop is just a direct replacement for the original, right?

but exactly how much different can the "smaller" scoop be if it uses the same screws as the original, and what does it fit? All models? Does the "large" fit all models too? I would like just the scoop for my Uly as I have made my own fan shroud a few years ago, and I don't need the one they sell with the "Uly Comfort Kit" so why pay for something I don't need?

Possible missing threads...

Had an accident last night, actually early this morning doing some maintenance and accidentally deleted a BUNCH of archived threads here. Will have them restored tonight assuming sysadmin got my email. Sorry about that.

#10 x 1/2" should work. I'm not sure about the thread pitch.

I'm guessing 24

ok, the big scoop is from the uly comfort kit,as in from, i mean just the scoop parts: M0851.7AA scoop(i paid $26.00) & M0852.7AA inner scoop($12.00)the 3 10-32 screws are used to mount the scoop to the inner scoop(the inner scoop mounts to the bike using the 2 front torx head screws from the stock scoop. i put these on my '08 xb9sx w/ no prob. it works great, fan only runs for a little while when i shut it down. the smaller scoop M0854.7AA comes stock on the 2010 xbs/r modles(look on the buell website, diff. from earlier years). i paid $16.00 no extra hdw just uses the same 3 torx screws.

Yo Joel 9,

I ordered the little scoop, but haven't gotten it yet. Since you have both, I am curious to know your thoughts on your 9. I am going to try the small scoop first and see if there is a difference that can be felt.

the smaller works pretty good also looks good too. of course it's bigger than the stock one so i can tell a difference by how long my fan runs after i shut it down...way shorter time than stock. the large one works awesome, really hogs the air in. i think i might have sucked in a cat on my last ride. anyway some people don't like the way it looks but i think it's doin' it's job- keeping my bike cool, and thats good enough for me.(and for the price too)

I just start installing the Buell "Rider Comfort Shroud Kit" Question is with the new shroud in place around the top of the shock there is no room to get your finger in under the front of the trunk pan to hold the nut in place for the front EMC mount screw. there is just no room to get to the nut location. What to do, not happy about running with just the rear EMC mounting screw.. Any suggestions...

Correct.

There have been something like 4 threads discussing that and a variety of solutions.
