There are some HD dealers that don't sell Buell or even accept Buell, but my HD dealer now sells scooters, haha. I guess some dealers are more open minded than others.

It did look pretty funny last weekend when I pulled up to the dealership to get some more plexus, and I seen a bunch of old bikers standing around a bunch of scooters.

Here is the newsletter I just received

Yeah one near me that used to have Buell stopped selling Buell and recently started selling scooters.

Oh well the particular dealer was useless anyway

It's a similar market. They're both 'lifestyle accessories.'

To me, HD dealers and salesman have always made the top of my list for being harda$$ douche bags due to past experiences, it's just great to see the HD dealer image changing, selling cute, friendly scooters.

At least they went with a decent scooter brand. I own 2 Genuines. They are rock solid.

Seem a bit steep on price though. I see cheap chinese 125 models for $700 brand new. I've recently rebuilt a Zuma, that my roommate wrecked, which incredibly hold value, and just can't see the cheap chinese makes being that much less in quality from the name brands. Maybe you can tell me why they are so expensive, but I just can't see it, there's literally nothing to a small engine scooter to justify those prices.

Genuine Scooters are not cheap chinese POS's (India and Taiwan), and are supported by a real dealer network that actually has parts and knows how to wrench on them, and the distributor has been around a while in the Vintage Vespa scene and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. That's why they justify those prices.

You could ride a Stella to the end of the world and back and get parts anywhere, since its the same thing as a Vespa P-series, except with disc brakes and electric start. Where else can you find a company that's been willing to jump through the hoops and make a new >50cc two stroke legal for the street? Genuine has two such models.}

Everytime a Yam Zuma 125 passes..it almost looks Buellish...that would be the one to get.

You'll be seeing alot of HD dealers selling off-brand stuff in the near future. HD's profits? Down 91% at the moment.

A dealer's gotta do what a dealer's gotta do to keep the lights on right now. The HD dealer in Springfield, MO, used to carry Ural's, of all things. Russian and USA, right in the same store.

And anyone that thinks the Chinese half-breed stuff is "about as good" as Honda, Yamaha, etc., has never worked on it! It's trash!

Yes, a good dealer network is worth the extra, it just amazes me how expensive scooters are in general.

I did check out some of Genuine Scooters' 50cc models, they look quality, but can you tell me why the Rough House R50 is a ripoff of the Zuma??? I know that if I designed the Zuma, I'd be pretty pissed right now!

Here in GA, as long as it has lights, any 50cc scooter is legal on the street. Does not need to be registered or have insurance, or have a MC license, just can't drive on roads posted over 35mph.

JOS51700 you know the Chinese stuff 90% of it will never get worked on. It will have under 500 miles put on it the first riding season then spend the next 10 years in the back of the garage while they complain about gas prices.

cant go on roads over 35? dang.
That takes half the fun out of my Vino then.
Still with stock exhaust it's hitting 45 MPH (my truck speedo agrees with it even)

By spring it will most likley have a pipe and a 90cc kit in it ; )

With a vance and hines pipe and a larger jet, we had this zuma going 50+ on flat ground, granted the rider was 140lbs wet.

LOL And to think that he wants to get a streetbike, I think he should stick with the scooter for a while.

Drop an American motorcycle and pick up a Taiwanese scooter?

Weird.

Where is the "Genuine Scooter" made?

It's cute, but isn't it sort of Anti-Harley?

P.T. Barnum said "give the people what they want".

In this case if they don't want (or can't afford a roadcouch) it's a great way to make a dollar.

Thats thinkin' with your dipstick...Jimmy..
