Lookin' for a little help, I feel that my idler sprocket bearing may be bad. The reason I have come to this conclusion may be unsubstantiated. To me it it feels dry when I spin the sprocket, however it spins freely, and slows at a smooth pace. There is a bit of lateral motion as well. Maybe it is fine, just would like to be sure. It appears that the bearing is welded into the sprocket by two spot welds on either side 180 degrees from each other, so 6 o'clock one side and 12 o'clock on the other, The sprocket looks to be in good shape to me, all 15 teeth.

Unfortunately the guy I bought it from has all but disappeared. It was used when I bought it with supposedly 2,000 miles on the kit and the sprockets looks true to that. However, he told me it wasn't a "home made kit" that it was from american sport bike, but it is quite clearly a Saintly kit. To me it sounds like my chain drive is very loud when I quickly shut off the throttle. However, my only previous use of chain drives are on dirt bikes. I also seem to have a strong vibration under heavy acceleration at about 3,700RPM, can strongly feel it in the right bar and right mirror shakes/vibrates strongly. However the vibration is there and gone by the time it hits ~4,100 RPM. So, am I crazy or could the idler seize, if the bearing is bad how do I change it, and does anyone else have this setup with the welded in bearing and 15 tooth sprocket. Any wisdom would be great, don't really want to bother Fritz anymore and just want to make sure it is safe. If it's a dumb question shoot me down, opinion and thoughts? Number on the bearing looks to be 203KRR-2RSX5/8 C4, Bike is an '03 9R w/ race kit.
