How reliable are the '09 XB9sx's? I'm about to pull the trigger on one, but am concerned about reliability problems (like leaky head gaskets and blown fuses).

I may have had bad luck with mine. 2 electrical problems in less than 700 miles.

05 XB9SX pushing 30k miles, and no problems I haven't caused myself (lost a bolt I had recently replaced on the front mount and sheared an exhaust stud as a result, and misrouted the ECM wire bundle after going back to stock from race unit and threw a trouble code).

I wish the Kawasaki's and Yamaha I owned had been this solid...

I dunno about the reliability.
I seriously doubt you could get over 200K miles out of it.

I mean really, just look at the ones with only 80 or 90K miles on them. They start getting a little tired by then and in need of a rebuild by the 100th thousand mile.

All tongue in cheek of course.

XBs are pretty damn reliable when cared for.

And sometimes even when not cared for..

I remember one Euro Mag took an XB (12R I think but not sure anymore) and rode it hard for 50K mile then tore it apart only to be hugely surprised to find that the internal were in practically pristine condition.

Good to know they hold up well. Not too many of them around here and I don't know anyone who has one.

I plan on test riding one at the dealer tomorrow.

"I plan on test riding one at the dealer tomorrow."

Then you'll be buying one. Most addicting bike ever.
