It's nice to see fellow beemer riders on this forum! Great tastes I must say!

I can't see how anyone would want to 2-up on the xb's. It's all about ME, ME, ME!!!!

Ridding 2 up is ok on the Buell i guess but they're right if you want comfort while 2 up nothing is better than the BMW LT's

Every time someone mentions the weight I have to ask: "Are you planning on riding it, or carrying it??"

Great info here! Thanks!
My GF really like riding on bikes and I know she is itching to ride with me (havent ridden 2up yet, im still on my permit ; ) )
I have the low seat and was wondering if there if there was a better seat for the passenger without raising me up too much (i'm 5'10" and cant flat foot with the low seat, its an xb12s with seat spacers) I'm even considering swapping out to a SS seat/subframe if it would be worth it for the passenger comfort(and me not having to worry about her sliding off the back) From what I have read, switching to and SS would require some mods to get it to bolt up correctly.. but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Any ideas/tips?

I have an XB12Ss with a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat. The backrest makes a huge difference when we ride, she can sit back and her weight is off my wrists. And we can keep up with everyone else, (after a few rides she got used to the twisties).

I ride 2 up a lot with my GF on my '08 XB12Ss. The stock saddle is really nice and comfy, but a backrest would probably help. She ends up pushing me forward and putting a lot of pressure on my back and wrists, for sure.

Yea, I'm not going to rush it.. if I am not 100% confident then I will not let anyone on with me. Plus she needs to get some more gear. Thanks for the tips!

Well I have a real seat collection already for my '06 XB12Ss. But the Corbin Gunfighter and the lady w/back rest hits the target dead nuts for me. It started after I brought the Ss home a couple of years ago when my wife asked "So where am I supposed to sit?" My wife you see, has typically rode on the back maybe twice a year.... maybe, on any street bike I have ever owned in the last 20 some odd years. This Buell WAS about ME after all she rides maybe 2/365ths a year (I try ride everyday if possible)and she could see right through me. So I promised to find a better seat even with a back rest mind you. Either that or go and trade in the Buell on something like a Goldwing (which made me cringe at the thought of floor boards, crash gaurds, highway pegs, antenna mount, saddle bags and anything else hanging from it just dragging hard as pictured myself trying to ride it like I do on the Buell). So first I found the Buell sport seat on ebay $90 not bad but she saw no benefit, next a touring seat better but no back rest soo.... I found a take off Ulysiss seat again cheap on ebay(probobly sat too tall for somebody) and planned to mount a small sportster back rest which I also found on ebay. Butt ugly? You bet...I've even completed the latch mods to make it work, put it on rode around the block once with my daughter. Then I immediately stripped it off in case another motorcyclist should see it. Functional yes But I just can't bring myself put that thing on my bike. Well at over $600 for the Corbin I guess I better start saving.

BEST ADVICE EVER......wear bicycle compression shorts with built-in gel ass-pad (rider & passenger - $30) and cut a tack-mat sized for the back seat (usually for toolboxes/grandma's cupboard) so she doesn't slide off. Usually my butt goes numb/hurts after an hour but with the shorts, the boys and butt feel great for hours! plus, the shorts pull moisture from your skin and keep you cooler!.... that, combined with the Buell Select seat V, your woman will be smiling the entire ride!!
