My fuel pump went through 3 fuses in as many hours...No big deal, the bike is still under warranty. The dealer actually came and got me and my bike. So the short of the long is the dealership could not duplicate...So nothing was actually repaired. That means I had to pay for the DIAGNOSTIC WORK OUT OF POCKET. 137 bucks for them to fill my fuse block. I even called H-D to make sure this was correct. I asked if the fuel pump breaks tomorrow will I get my 137 back...Nope, she said. Moral of the Story is: Make sure it is BROKE before you take it in for warranty work! |

Seems like they'd have figured out the pump was good, and went to looking as to why it was blowing fuses. |

My '09 XB9SX blew 2 fuel pump fuses in the last 6 weeks. Dealer is 70 miles away. They couldn't duplicate either, but I wasn't charged for the work or the pick up and return of the bike. |

buell cs wont help you. in fact they're quite useless. many will chime in, but most haven't actually had real problems with dealers and needed some real help. call buell and they'll jot down some of what you say, then they'll say talk to the dealer, so i advise that you go talk to the dealer about the situation. try to be calm and polite which was my tactic many times until finally i went in with guns blazing and only then got the results i wanted, which was for them to fix what they damaged. not an unreasonable request. good luck. let us know how it turns out. |

You should never have to pay anything for bike thats under factory warranty. Now if you are under and extended warranty, then diagnostic time is on you. |

Im sure that dealers vary. Mine was quite firm in that no one but me was paying for the work! If somebody has something written down, thats what I need! Leo |

From your manual: Warranty and Service Information: Buell Models Any authorized Buell dealer is responsible for providing the warranty repair work on your motorcycle. If you have any questions regarding warranty obligations contact your selling dealer. For normal service work or warranty work under the above conditions, you may obtain the name and location of your nearest U.S. Buell dealer by calling 1-800-490-9635 (toll free), in any state except Alaska and Hawaii. To find dealers worldwide, see www.buell.com. Although it's not spelled out here, I think the law would agree that the dealer can't meet their repair obligation until they do the diagnostic. Therefore, they are responsible for the diagnostics. There's probably something about bona fide but this sounds like it is. Have to check your US/State laws or send Court a p.m. |

Snakedriver, there is a new thread by a fellow fuel pump fuse loser. He has an '09 XB9SX like mine. Perhaps we are seeing a trend. |

+1 Court. BCS tried to help me with my wife's original dealer's service department and then worked together with the next dealer to get her brand new Blast working right. It has been running fine for the last 10 months. I know they will do their best with my 6 month old CityX's fuse problem if the dealer can't find the solution. |

I have to agree with Court. Buell bent over backwards for me......and therein is the lesson...you have to contact Buell. Yep, in my book Buell IS amazing! I had an issue with my X-1. I had a problem for a year with the bike just shutting down. When I finally contacted Buell customer service, Buell spent several days on the phone with my dealer troubleshooting the problem....fixed it, picked up two tows.....and then extended my factory warranty for six months. Pretty amazing. |

look up the service record of my previous buell and my current buell and my calls to bcs. then tell me that bcs is amazing. amazingly worthless, yes. Could be the attitude of the owner. Just sayin'. I know from two posts that I wouldn't be that inclined to cross the street to pee a fire out on your head. |
