dyna, very cool...do they also make it for the larger 1200 sporty...not sure the one for the 883 would flow the right amount. also it looks like I am going to need at least the 18 inch canister. Any idea on the length of the sporty can?
thanks for the info

ss2-r claims this...

SS2-R EXHAUST SYSTEMS FOR BUELL & SPORTSTERS

12 Horsepower In 30 Minutes!
Vance & Hines burned up the dyno on these new Buell Slip-ons with an amazing 12 horsepower and 16 ft./lbs. of torque increase. Let’s face it, no one really likes the stock Buell exhaust. Not only do these slip-ons have arm stretching power and save up to 6 lbs. over stock but have that perfect sound and look for these Hot Rods.

- SS2-R Performance Slip-On
- 12 horsepower increase overstock!
- 16 ft./lbs. torque increase!
- 6 lbs. weight savings.
- Improved ground clearance.
- Powerful V-Twin sound.
- Available in aluminium or carbon fibre.

I could see a 12 hp gain combined with a free flowing intake. Well on Sporties anyways. On the Buells you might get 5-6 hp.

Hey, where can I get one of them there +12HP, +16FT/LBS cans?

Christ. And a spoiler on a Civic makes it go faster, too.

Still don't get the whole side-can on a Buell thing, but to each his own.

I stand corrected. I just went to AutoZone.com to see if they can get me a K&N for my Blast and found wings in the 'performance' section. Morons...

Those stupid fart cans...their on EVERYTHING here. Annoyingly loud, they really DO sound like someone letting one rip, and half the time it's a fricking MINIVAN or station wagon making all the racket.

I've got one of those Vance and Hines things on my 1998 S1W and the increase is not at the top, but in the middle between 2500rpm to 4500rpm. Reg's magazine did a test on the mufflers available at the time (June '98) and the V&H increased the mid-range better than the others and I felt they were a quality piece.

I'm happy with what I got. With a Q-curve ignition box, the V&H, gutted stock airbox and a Mikuni flatside, I'm running 89hp@6500rpm and 79lb/ft@2800rpm. And it never drops below 70lb/ft all the way to redline.

I like this pipe because it stays quiet when I want it and yet sounds cool when you wack the throttle open. Easy to repack too.

I've also got a nicely balanced motor so my pipe or muffler has never broken, since 1998. I just wish the label was painted better, for it comes of way too easily.

It's a nice choice. Keeps the neighbors happy.
