At the 10,000 mile service I had NGK Iridiums installed by the dealer. An interesting chain of events took place on that day that I will share;
I had all 10,000 mile service done in the morning done at about 10:30(Except the spark plug change). I had the plugs changed at about 2pm. The reason for this was that the dealership was waiting for my plugs on an afternoon UPS shipment.
I asked if I could have my bike back to ride around until plugs showed up. I rode for awhile, grabbed lunch, and rode more.
After the 10,000 mile service the bike felt no different than it did prior to the service.
After the plugs were installed I rode the bike and there was a BIG improvement in drivability and the butt dyno said it was faster and pulled stronger.

I'm sick and the brain in only firing on the rear cylinder....
You will also need a 6 to 12 inch long piece of 1/4 inch fuel line to install the rear spark plug. Just slip the top of the plug into one end of the hose and use the hose to lower the plug into the hole and thread it in. You may want to purchase a pair of spark plug wire pliers.

Do the XB 9's use the same plug numbers? I have a little nine that I know has the Harley plugs in it right now and would love to put in a set of the NGK Iridiums. The bike is an 06 CX |

Again, thanks.
Got the manual, iridium plugs and going to give it a go this weekend - an oil change as well. And while my oil drain plug is out I've got to figure out how to drill a safety wire hole in it for my track day in Sept. Guess this means I'm gonna have to buy a vise. I still will have HD do the shock oil replace as I have no stand to remove front wheel. |
