It will NOT fit! Even with my favorite tool! Well it will install just fine and only took a couple of hours including putting the bike back together. HOWEVER I couldn’t get the seat to go back on the bike due to the fact the duct stuck up way to high…guess there’s more room under the Uly’s seat. You can see in the photos that the shroud is a lot larger than the Buell photos would make you think. If you look at the two photos on the side openings you can see how much the duct sticks up. Looks like it’s Saw-Saw time here!

I can see why how it routes the air now and we'll see what I can make that will do the same thing. At least the scoop and header pipe cover fit and make a world of difference!

You know the Elf's work for Buell and I don't for a reason! Back to the drawing board!

I just installed the fan duct on my 2006 XB12ss and everything fit just as good as it the one i help install on my buddies 06 Uly.

I am going to try and get some pictures tonight for anyone that is interested.

Please do.

What is the difference between an ss and a TT. Why would it fit on an ss and not the TT?

The difference between an SS and the STT is the suspension and a few cosmetic bits like the fender and hand guards. Thats it. No reason it wouldn't work on one and not the other.

Birdy which seat are you using? Is it stock or the 2 up?

I own an 07 TT and have both the solo & 2-up seats. The pans on both seats have the same part/model numbers molded into them.

Took a couple of quick depth measurements around where the duct would go. They were the same.

Birdy- the fan duct doesn't look like it's seated properly. There's a gap at the right side over the shock. Maybe if you worked with a little more you could get it down where the seat would clear.

I think there's more depth in the seat rails on the Uly than the Stt. I have both the solo and gel touring saddle and both hit about 1" before the seat was all the way on.

It was seated the photo, that was only one of 5 tries at getting it in. IF I push it back from the front it would sorta work but then it was really pinching the wiring loom, like a Buell needs any help at all with wiring problems!

Then today while cleaning out the garage I mangaed to step on it. I was planing to use it to make a mold war a duct for the STT Ss. I still plan to it's just low on the list right now.

AND who knows Buell may have one for the XB12Ss that will pop right in and it's just waiting in the parts book at the dealer for me to find?

I have a 08 tt and I don't understand is this a heat thing? I'm just interested. I have seen the uly's rightside scoop on a 07 tt and it fit and looked good

The scoop fits fine along with the header pipe cover. What we're talking about here is the underseat fan duct that forces the hot air down and out rather than letting it blow up under the seat then though the seat rail sides.

I tried and the top of the duct kept me from putting the seat back on. I think the seat rails are just enough deeper on the Uly to make the difference over the Stt. Next Cobra meeting I plan to steal a peek at Wolfridgerider bike to see if I'm right OR need new glasses!

And yea Mark I did pull the seat pan to install it. The Stt has a one piece pan and I had to reinstall it to put the bike bake together...really wanted a ECU and battery ya know! The duct "Clicked" into the frame around the shock like it was should I think

The heat issue is much more present on the Uly. I have a Uly... my buddy has a 07 Lightning Long. We switched bikes one time and I noticed that my right leg was not getting hot. (I also noticed his seat was much more comfortable too.)

First thing he mentioned was how hot his right leg was getting when riding the Uly.

Ordered my 2010 comfort kit today.

Does anyone know if Buell is releasing new fuel maps for the 06-07 Uly that go with the 'riders comfort kit'?
