Just got my "box-o-goodies". I have ecmspy, complete w/stock and race ecm maps. But i'm having trouble finding a map "tweaked" to the D&D/K&N combo. Does anyone have the map I'm looking for, or can u point to it? From the "shootout" results I see I can use the race map, but can do better w/one that's all dialed in for my pipe. Any help is appreciated. | ||

I have one for you. Same year and Mods. Based off a Direct link map that was dyno tuned. Plus a few other ecm tweeks to smooth out throttle response. PM sent. | ||

Well, everything is installed, but ecmspy is telling me my race map that came w/connector is invalid. Soo my next ? is...Is it safe to ride w/stock ecm, or do I risk fouling a plug like I did riding open header while re-painting my stock can? Or do I have to copy data over manually?  | ||

Ok, still having problems. I have been sent 3 EEProms. 1 race, 1 setup for D&D/K&N, and 1 "experimental". The first 2 would not burn..."EEProm Data is not compatible to ecm!"... The third burned, but tps is at 16% and will not start. Do I need to do a tps reset? should I reset before or after burning? after I think, right? Also could anyone send me some more EEProms? preferably for an 05XBS W/D&D/K&N, or race. Thanks again. | ||

I think you need to study up on ecmspy before you do permanent damage to the ecms or your bike... | ||

I agree, but All I have is the "tuning Guide" to study. And that doesn't have a whole lot of info when it comes to just burning an already tuned map/eeprom. Could someone point me towards some better reference material? | ||

There is several different types of ECMs, and they are all not compatible with each other, hence the errors you got on the first two. The last one sounds like it worked, do a TPS reset, and AFV reset, take it for a spin, reset them again, then go for another ride and see how it does. | ||

I've been doing some research. It looks like some "tuners" set their tps as high as 16%! When I do my tps reset, I'm guessing I should set it to what the "new EEProm" shows after burning?(16% on this one) Right??? Sorry I'm such a newb, I guess I should've started reading up on this a while ago. I was just hoping it was gonna be simple and easy. Nothing worth having is ever easy. | ||

No, forget about the 16%. Back the idle screw all the way out, until the % stops dropping, click reset TPS, turn the idle screw back in to 5.1%, done. It is simple and easy, you just have figured it out yet.  | ||

Thx. I'll give it a try. The Firmware version on my ecm is BUEIB310 it will only accept eeproms from the same firmware version. If you have a D&D/K&N tuned w/this firmware version, please contact me. Thanks again to all who helped. | ||

Burn only the maps from the map page. Then change your o2 settings to the following: Rich: .56 Midpoint: .50 Lean: .43 I have had the best results with these settings. I notice improved low speed low tps driveability. | ||

So I should be able to burn the maps from the "incompatible" eeproms? I'll give it a shot. THX! Unfortunately I have to work 12hr shifts the next 3 nights. So I may not get to it til Sat. | ||

Yep, worked out perfect!! I loaded the eeprom, switched to the maps tab, burned maps, and changed my o2 settings. Then after pulling out my old(6500mi)fouled HD plugs, and putting in some NKG iridiums, she fired right up! Adjusted the idle up a bit, and off I went! Big thanks to all who helped me through the "growing pains" of being a (PROUD) Buell owner!!! |
