Maybe not as simple as the title makes it seem!
Is it possible to turn the XB9 motor into an XB12. Using the same bottom end, etc or are they completely different with completely different parts?
I know some bikes use the same bottom end then a bigger cylinder, piston, etc.

You'll have the crack the case either way but there are two ways.
1. Swap out crank, rods, and pistons from a 12 (or keep the 9 pistons for increased compression somewhere near 12:1)
2. Send the motor to someone like Revolution Performance or NRHS for a 1170cc big bore kit.
The cases have to be bored for the oversized pistons. but you keep the same crank/stroke so you can still rev like a 9 but will have as much or more power than a 12.
