Ok, so its time for new tires. I dont want to open a huge can of worms... But I could use everyones experience I have come down to two tires, Pirelli Corsa 3's or the Michelin Pilot Roads 2. I have a 'bolt that came with Dunlops, so anything seems to be an upgrade, but what are the positives and negatives of both? I do a lot of street time; a lot of time/miles on straight freeways, so I need a tire that will last. I really dont do good track time, so that aspect isnt my biggest worry. Thoughts and opinions. If you are gonna be going on just straight roads.....get the Michelin Pilot Roads, not the PR2. I get an average of about 8500 out of a back tire and 18,000 out of a front, and im on my 3rd back tire and second front. Great tire, and a lot cheaper than the PR2 and Corsa 3's | ||

definately consider the continental road attack tires, great prices and awesome grip. i burned thru my metzler m3's and these conti's are sweet! | ||

get a subscription to a motorcycle magazine that suits your riding style (cruiser, sport rider, speed demon, city boss, ect) and they will give you the best reviews on motorcycle tires bar none. reviews on most of the web sites pertaining to tires are not the professional opinion deserved. I stick to the magazines' tire shootouts  | ||

I had pilot roads before i got the pilot roads 2 now. The PRs lasted 11000 miles and the grip was good but the worst part is that the bike would stand up even with just light braking. I have 5000 on the PR2s now. The standing up is gone. Trail braking is an option now. Even took them on a track day, thill a high speed track full of sweepers, and the grip was great. | ||

One of my riding buddies told me that the recent issue of the English magazine, Bike, tested the Michelin Pilot Power One, track tire, the Pilot Power 2Ct, and the Pilot Road 2. The Pilot Road was only a second a lap slower than the Pilot One, and was faster in the wet than the other two. I will be getting a copy of the mag next week, will report more later. However, I found this to be very believable. BTW, with about 600 miles on my PR2's they seem to handling better than ever. There seems to be some anecdotal evidence that these tire take a couple hundred miles to "break in" . Perhaps this is because the rubber is harder. Just guessing. | ||
