The MT-01 has the Roadstar engine, and owning a Roadstar, I can say this engine would be fun in a sportbike frame....., but also owning an XB12S, I know which one I would prefer......

Yamaha MT-01 = Heavy, underpowered bike...but it looks pretty good.

I like the idea of a thumper motor in a lighter chassis. Personally, I'd like to take a Yamaha WR 450 motor and put it in a Honda RS125 or TZ125 chassis and rig some lights so it's street legal.

Deadduck: I REALLY wanted to like the Vision, but whoever designed that things saddle bags needs to be taken out back behind the barn and beaten SENSELESS. I've never seen a bike that big, with what LOOKS like the biggest saddlebags on the market, only to have you open them and see these little tiny compartments that are not only smaller than anything else I've seen in this genre, but the opening has a smaller circumference than the compartment inside!!

+1. Looked like a nice idea, but longer and much heavier (and top heavy?) than a Buell, just not in the same class.

Oh, yes, that'd work for me : D

That RSV4 is truly awesome.

It would have been my 'other' choice as well except I can't afford all the tickets that would surely accompany it : D

Kinda looks like every other new sportbike IMO......

The guys from BMW brought out the 2010 S100RR the other night for bike night and it was the same way. Same styling as all the other sportbikes. But it does have LOTS of power.

I base the awesomeness of RSV4 on it's engine type (V4), dimensions (narrow) and ridability.

Of course having not ridden one (and probably never will) I can't attest to it's ridability but I've heard and read nothing but great things about it.

Hayes diesel... it'll be here.

We've seen their road test mules but they can't commit when the bikes will be EPA and DOT legalized since they're supporting the war effort with the conversions for the USMC.

+1 to Metalstorm's comment. I chose the RSV4 based on specs and other things I've read on how it should perform. Looks are secondary to me choosing a motorcycle. We all just happen to be fortunate that our Buells look bad ass, as well as being fun to ride for many reasons.

Mpolans,
"Patches - "But if you had the dollars, what would be the bike you'd park next to it in the garage."

I had a 2002 Buell M2Low Cyclone 1203cc bought it new. Fastest Bike I believe I have ever owned, loved the Power as it was a Stump Puller on takeoff. In addition, the way it pulled from 80mph to 110mph would slide you back on the seat. (completely Stock) The Cyclone was a little too top heavy for me I have a bad back and very bad knees. so after about 2 years I sold it. I really wish I still had it.

maybe this

I Like the all black look of it. Though I would half to move the foot pegs.
