As some of you know, I have a goal of putting 100k on my bike and having the Man himself sign it before I retire from the Marine Corps. The Corps just let me know that they no longer will ship motorcycles to Okinawa due to Japan emission standards. How different can it be, they sell the Firebolt over there...

Anyway if the Corps won't ship it for me, Do you think Buell or Harley might help me get it there??

This blows, I can't sell her now, I wouldn't even consider it, She's awesome. But doesn't make sense to leave her in the garage all alone. I need to find an affordable way to get her over there with me.

Won't have the wife to ride.....gotta have something to.

Contact XGeko (Tony) at aikigecko@yahoo.com

He's a Navy man who recently looked into shipping his Buell to Japan and found all kinds of red tape that made it impossible. There were a lot more than just emissions issues.

Could you ship it to yourself as "used motorcycle parts" in two big boxes? Depending on the product and the nations it is going between this could change the import and tax situation.

Don't they sell Buells in Japan? Maybe your opportunity to get a XB12.

Yeah the sell them over there, and I've thought about getting a 12R. But I'm really happy with my 9R and would really love to have it over there with me, instead of sitting in the garage for 2 years. I'll try my best to get it there unless it just cost to damn much.

If you really want someone to put some miles on it, I could almost guarantee 22K/year. I could use yours as my commuter instead of mine. That should give you about 65K of bragging rights plus your new 12 when you get back.

Just curious, do you know what kind of deals the Navy and Air Force Exchanges give now?

I'm sure you would love that Kaese to bad your in PA. I'm sure someone in AZ will hook it up with a ride every now and then. From what I understand I should save about 3-4 g's on a new one while I'm over there.

Xb9... I have a garage up here in Prescott that she'd feel comfortable in. She'd sit next to a Mustang Mach1 and an XB12R...

If you need a place anyway...

I think I'm the only one with a black 12R... I saw a red one but only once and headed towards seventeen so he may not be from around here. I head out towards Wickenburg for fun quite often so it's possible. Other than XB's I've seen an S3T an S1 and an M2 I think. The S1 had a nice header on it and was quite loud.

Oh, and it's a seventy-two Mach. Pretty much the same on the outside as a seventy-one but a bit less HP... Not much less though. I'm just getting ready to rebuild the original engine. All the numbers match. It's very straight and in good shape. I do need to find a rim though.
