Scott:
Next time check High Country in Fredrick (zack is awesome!)

I'd give Sun a call and ask to talk to the GM. I bet they'd like to hear about that service writer's attitude! They ARE set up so they can order Metzler tires, I know this for a fact!

I never, ever buy motorcycle tires at a dealer. They never have what I want in stock anyway and I don't want to wait the typical 1 & 1/2 weeks it would take to get them.

The main benefit of having a cage is that I can go online and order the tires I want at a good price and have them shipped to my door within three days.

Then I put my wheels and tires in the cage and take them to the local hd/BUELL shop and they mount and balance them for me. It costs about $60.

In the past there was a different service manager and parts guy and they never charged me. They asked only that I simply donate $10 or $20 to the lunch fund (they liked throwing BBQs for their customers).

Now under new management I have to pay the going rate but it is a business and they need to make a profit to stay in business. They're actually Buell friendly so I need them to stay in business. The new service manager rides an XBSs even!

Apparently if they're HD only then they are HD ONLY.
They will not sell nor work on anything that isn't HD.

As inconvenient as that is, I'm glad it is that way.

It would be really sucky if a shop that doesn't sell Buells or even remotely support Buells were allowed to make $$ off of Buell parts.

A small KTM dealer in town comes within $20 of online prices for most tire pairs. AND they mount/balance them for free.

Steve, that may just be the exception to the rule : )

I wish I could find such a shop out my way.
