I`ve seen alot of people cutting holes or cutting the sides off their inner airbox to allow for more airflow. Is there any benifit to doing this or are you hurting performance? Most of the bikes i`ve seen with this just have exhaust/ECM mods and the owners swear by it. Just wanted to ask the experts. thanks

it will allow more air to pass through giving you about a 4-6 hp boost. Im not the expert by anymeans. buying the xb12 airbox cover will do the same for you but you wont end up with the noise that you do by making swiss cheese out of your airbox. |

What if the bike is already a XB12. Is there any benifit to cutting up the airbox. Will it have any adverse effects on the fuel injection system? |

Does anyone have a picture of the holes they put into the air box? |

See the "Tale Section" log by Keith (Skully) entitled "From Cruiser to Sport Bike...". He has a great pic of his Swiss Cheesed airbox. |
