Having trouble getting my Laptop to connect. I soldered the cables to the connector leads. I was able to get it to connect once. It times out and always fails to find the ecm.

using com port 4
uninstalled and installed the driver.

Is there a way to test the connectivity of the cable?

Is there a way to test the Data plug on the bike? Maybe the plug is bad?

Any trouble shooting tips helpful.

Make sure your key is "on" and that the red rocker switch is in the run position as well.

I have the VDSTS set up from Al at American Sport Bike and it won't recognize my laptop when my key is off
